Description hehe, I forgot this existed... but I was bored, and I found it, so I finished... like in less of 50 mins.

This is Jackie from the movie The Jacket, which I loved very much. And I also love the result of this drawing very much! ^^

I like the result of this two. The shading and colors done on this drawing are well-developed, though the whole thing seems a bit airbrushed.

Thank you Yeah, I tend to do that kind of look with the pencils with the smudging pencil and the color ones as well, mixing them all up and creating various layers of color to create like almost a pastel feel of layer on top, and it looks smooth.

...If only she had longer light brown hair and gray eyes.

This picture caught my eye, actually because, for me, it captures a sense of how one of my characters is. I sometimes browse galleries looking for hints of color and shading that give me a sense of visual connection to what I write. This is one of those pictures.

As just a painting, I also like it of course. The softness, texture and details - and in less than fifty minutes. Well worth a favorite. (:

Yes, I understand what you mean! It happens to me at times. I don't look for it, but sometimes there are certain faces or sceneries that fit really well with my novel's characters or places. It's a great feeling to sort of... see your character in someone else's face, artwork or picture. So I'm glad you feel that way with this drawing.

Thanks for the comment! ^.^

oh, and I should take out that comment of the 50 mins... it confuses people :/ It means I finished from what was left, so it wasn't the whole picture. hehe, oh well...

Oh ha. That lessens the Whoa! effect of the picture from "How-in-the-nine-circles-of-the-Mayan-hell?" to "Awesomely-amazing-spiffy." And now that you have broken my heart with the revelation, I shall go to my room and cry -

- wait, I'm in my room. And tears on a keyboard are not good. I'll be strong.

And yes, it is a great feeling. All the more wonderful for how rare it happens.

Kind regards!

hehe, thanks! ^^ yeah, the glass came out better than I thought it would I'm proud of that glass... but don't ask me to do it again!

hehe, well I dunno, I might do something with glass later. Is a good practice, and you could do it too. At first maybe it won't be the best, but you would see some improvement with the more practice you do.

Thanks!

Yes, they say - practice, practice, practice! I think I need a little more patience, patience, patience

I am with also with you on the "cant co it again thing" - I swear I cant repeat something for the life of me. My professor says that is good as I wouldnt want my work to look cookie-cutter but it would be nice to have a little consistency!

Elven-38-Stone In reply to visualawakenings [2007-02-04 05:43:30 +0000 UTC]

hehe, I understand you comepletely! Actually, I'm in the same position as you. First, I'm one of those artists which starts something and it takes a lot to finish it (and most of those I finish I find something I could have done better.. oh yes, perfectionist too this one!) This year I did a resolution-like-thing, so I would -try- to finish and do originals or practice in a good way (copying masterpieces or sort of things). Then about consistency, I think the same. Sometimes I see galleries here that are very good, but all you see is the same stuff over and over again. And when I look at mine I just see a mess. With the repeated stuff I get bored easily, but with the mess is just seems, well, like a mess and not like an artist, I would say. I think right now I just want to practice and finish my pieces. If I find a style or not, that's not really important for me right now, but if I do I would like a balance, cause I don't want to bore others or myself with my gallery! XD

That is so funny - we are in exactly the same situation. My professor says if I just keep working my style will eventually present itself but again he says being diverse is actually much better than having the same thing over and over again. I think I need to make a similar resolution - just work and stop thinking about it. I think the consistent thinking is what sometimes gets right in my way!!!

Oh, by the way, your gallery isnt boring at all!!

hehe, cool! hey, if I had a professor telling me that, I would say he's confusing me! XD And you're right, sometimes thinking to much about it just ruins the flowing muse of an artist.

thank you! ^^ Is good to hear that, really!

ha! no, no, no! I finished the last pieces in 50 mins... I thought that might confuse... no, I started this a long time ago. the wall, some details of the background, her left hand, and some other things were done in less than 50 mins. What I meant to say is that it was almost finished... and I could have finish it a long time ago, but I forgot it existed so I finished it yesterday.

hehe, thanks for the comment! ^^

Elven-38-Stone In reply to lexidevil [2006-05-27 18:47:25 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! ^^ Yeah, I know about the face. *sighs* Since it was the first thing I drew, I knew it was wrong from the start. Even my mom said it, it doesnt look like her. And I tried to fix it, but it didn't work. And I think is the first time I continued a drawing knowing there was something wrong in it, and more the face that is so important. Usually that's when the drawing is left unfinished for the rest of its life. And I'm happy with it now, even with that. It looks cool
And yes, Keira IS lovely. Maybe I get to draw her again. This is like the third time I've done her, and the best one, so it would hurt to do another.

Thank you very much for your comment!
