Description spoiler alert

This is my entry to the #Lunar-Club contest. We were challenged to draw our favorite scene from the Lunar series. Choosing a scene was really difficult, but I finally decided on this one. It's a scene from Eternal Blue on the Sega CD, my favorite of all the Lunars. It is when you reach the top of the Goddess Tower and find Nall. He activates a hologram of Althena, and does a little monologue.
Among everything he says, this gets me every time:

"I've waited for this day for so long! ... The day that my promise to Luna is finally fulfilled. Seeing her brings back so many memories... memories of Alex, Nash, Mia, Jessica, and... ... ...Look at me! I've turned into a driveling idiot doing the 'remember when' number!"

That's it. No cut scene, no voices. The whole game you've been playing as Hiro and his friends, then boom, Nall mentions the Silver Star group. It is so nostalgic, like you are remembering friends that YOU have fought along side. Friends who are now long dead. It's a feeling of familiarity that is usually associated with reading books, but Lunar gives me that same feeling.

"I'm sorry, but I can't stay any longer... I don't want Ruby to see me like this. She would never let me live it down."

These characters do not belong to me.

Nice job with this one! I like how the ghost characters are all see through and not as vibrant as the alive one. Making them transparent really brings out the ghost quality in them. Nice work.

I agree. This scene definitely seems to stand out, despite being only text.

I never got to see such a scene. It wasn't in the remake. I can so see it happening though.

It was rather similar in the remake. The major differences were that the room was much darker and Althena was an old woman. Other than that, it had the same main feel. The Sega CD version just always stuck in my mind better, probably because it came first.

Aw...that is such a sad, but sweet scene! Poor Nall...Unfortunately, I've only played the Eternal Blue remake on the playstation, but he practically says the same thing (maybe different wording), and I understand that nostalgic feeling you mentioned. Very nice choice of scene, it's very sweet.

^_^ Thanks.
Poor Nall indeed. I've always wondered if Alex ever got to see Nall's human form, or if Nall figured it out after Alex died...
