Wanted to improve my style of drawing. Tried to draw something cartoonish and the result looks anime as hellEDITED: I've blended the shadows and added lights. Don't even try to tell me that the previous version looks better, I like this one more

Who knew that Rainbow Dash could take on the role of cute? Now of course what I like most about this piece is the ponytail. The flowing line work and movement done on it makes Rainbow Dash especially adorable to look at. Furthermore, I love the size you made RD's eyes. The most expressive part of the face are the eyes, and if Rainbow Dash is going to look cute, you should make sure those orbs are adorable to look at. The lighting is also well done. It almost looks like Rainbow Dash is at a photo shoot, and is posing for the camera. In addition, the background is nicely animated. It's like you took your fingers, rubbed charcoal or chalk onto them, and rubbed them onto the paper to create some subtle coloring. The only thing I would advise you of is to work on the blush on Rainbow Dash's cheeks. For now, they look like she added eye paint to her face, as if she's ready to take on the dragon from "Dragonshy" again. If you were to blend it with her coat color some more, then it would work a lot better. Other than that, I find this piece to be quite impressive. I advise you to keep up the great work, my friend.

It's hard to say which version I like more. The new version definitely pops more and the shine on her body only adds to her beauty. The old version still has that sleek shading that I enviously admire and would like to learn someday.

I like cel shading because it requires you to think more about where light would land rather than having a smooth approximation.
