This is a photo I took of a Tigon (half tiger half lion)

I'm pretty sure the name of that specific hybrid of Tiger and Lion is called a ''Liger'' : [link]

This one is a tigon. Tigons are hybrids of a male tiger and female lion. Ligers are the opposite.

Interesting... They actually gave a separate name for :
M.Tiger+F.Lion = Tigon
VS
F.Tiger+M.Lion = Liger
I didn't knew they could do that ? ...I wonder if it applies to some other species too ?

I have never seen a Tigon before! Where was this picture taken? I would love to see one in person! Catching him napping in the sun = priceless!!
