Ben and Socrates, each representing a certain aspect of Willard's character. Ben, the brooding, frustrated loner bubbling with unleashed rage, and Socrates, the sweet, meek and timid side. I like this picture overall, but I wish I hadn't done that black watercolor background thing and then try to save it by flecking it with red. The original looks a lot better, though. You can actually see Ben's features, they got kind of swallowed up with all the dark browns and blacks in the scanned version. I love drawing Ben. Now, if I only I could draw Willard... Watercolors on Bristol paper.
