Nobody cared because of what she seemed like.
Just because a person has more things than someone else doesn't mean they can't feel hurt or sad. Sometimes people who seem to have perfect lives, bright attitudes, or smile all the time, can be wearing the thickest mask.
Of course, this applies in general for people who often get neglected, unnoticed or ignored for what they go through or how they feel. I used to take this matter a bit lightly, but lately I've been wondering about people's true self when I look at someone...Whether my impression of them is bright, obnoxious, successful, nosy, perfect, stupid, fat, ugly, etc. I mean, I was kind of like these people too.
It makes me hate them a little less when I don't like them. Because who knows, the way they express themselves in public may not be their true self.
Was inspired while I was reading some stories in sixbillionsecrets. If you haven't been there, they have many interesting stories. They may sound whiny and emo, but you'd be surprised.

Man, I used to love SBS - until they introduced comments on secrets.
Then I found that most people just bitched...
It's funny how most of the comments are like 'yeaaah - I wear a mask too'

Personally, I'd totally understand if someone came to me in confidence and opened up.

Now the old me is dead. I can't help but to be depressed often now-a-days ever since i lost my old life.
Since my old life died.
She died, because no one cared. Because of how she seemed like..
They all called her an attention whore. They told her to kill herself.
In a way, she did.
All that remains is this empty husk that is me.
I find it hard to find the bright sides of life anymore, i don't even know what they are.
I'm starting my life anew, because sadly, my life is on the internet. My home is here, my heart is throughout the world, the internet is my connection to my many homes.
I am a new being, i must learn of myself. how much i have changed from my old life. now i am a new person.
I ask, may i use your concept for my own picture? I'll give you credit for the idea.

Many of my friends think I live a happy live, because I smile a lot, I act all "electric", I dance a lot, I scream a lot, I laugh a lot.. in public.
But the truth is, my life isn't so great at all, it's sad and depressing, but since I don't like seeing or making others sad, I just suppress those feelings and make myself looks as happy as ever.
It's my nature and I can't help it. It's like when I see garbage on the floor,... I can't help it to pick it up and put it where it belongs.. in the trash, I don't like ruining nature and mother earth.

I read some of the comments, and I disagree with one in particular who says that life can't be that bad if they're talking about it... what if they had spent months TRYING to talk, and finally did it...
At least, that's how it is for me. I've started opening up lately, but no one actually seems to care, exactly because they think it's not that bad and I'm just an attention whore... So I stopped. I mean, why try to open up when all you get is stares and mockery? It just makes it worse.

I was just thinking about that while I was replying to another person. It's a sad fact that often people don't take your problems seriously when you do open up about it. Some people are only brought to attention when something really bad happens. I've read few stories of those who resulted in being ignored; equally quite tragic.
Though to be fair, it's sometimes difficult to tell whether the person is seeking help or whoring for attention, because everyone fishes for attention (in various levels) at some point in their lives. I suppose you have to find a right type of person to discuss it seriously.
