"Dear Boss, I keep on hearing the police have caught me but they won’t fix me just yet. I have laughed when they look so clever and talk about being on the right track. That joke about leather apron gave me fits. I am down on whores and I shan’t quit ripping them till I do get buckled. Grand work the last job was. I gave the lady no time to squeal. How can they catch me now. I love my work and want to start again. You will soon hear of me with my funny little games. I saved some of the proper red stuff in a ginger beer bottle over the last job to write with but it went thick like glue and I can’t use it. Red ink is fit enough I hope ha ha. The next job I do I shall clip the lady’s ears off and send to the police officers first just for jolly wouldn’t you. Keep this letter back till I do a bit more work then give it out straight. My knife’s so nice and sharp I want to get to work right away if I get a chance. Good luck,Yours truly,

(Oi, to clarify something - the text written within the quotation marks above is, indeed, a quote and not written by myself - it's from a letter that someone actually sent to the police during the Ripper killings. One can't be entirely sure if he actually wrote that, or not, but I thought it was appropriate to quote it.)

That is actually how he used to write. They found his diary and I remember reading some of it and got the same feeling then as I did now reading it *shudder* lol though I don't recall him ever being as good looking as this version you've painted haha

Right now for a class I'm reading The Last Sherlock Holmes Story by Michael Dibdin which pits Sherlcok Holmes against Jack the Ripper. Pretty good read, imo.

There's a poem attached to the Ripper history that started as a faux letter sent to Scottland Yard and was later adopted by the local population of the area as a childrens' rhyme. It's acheived the notoriety of an urban legend, though it pertains to actual events.

There was a theory that Jack actually had a medical background and was doing live experiments on what he considered to be..ah...disposable people.
