Your work with the perspective is great. Were these shot by moving between frames, or rotating?

endegor In reply to AfricanObserver [2019-04-14 10:44:23 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!

I'd say rotating. But as I was balancing on one leg holding the camera on outstretched arms it was somehow moving +/- 20 см )))

I can picture the scene ...

In the newspapers ... "Photographer breaks leg taking pictures over edge of museum balcony"

Actually, I'm surprised we don't have more accidents/ assaults/ casualties amongst photographers!

Did you straighten out the perspective before stitching? These "grand perspective" images appeal to me - so I'm happy to come and learn from people who are getting it right!

I think the most traumatic photographers are selfists. If it is possible to call them photographers ))))

Usually I do stitching first, then play with projections. I use Hugin panorama maker that offers a dozen of different projections, so it is possible to choose how to represent the space in the final imageΒ

I agree about selfies!
and I downloaded Hugin today again, after not reinstalling it after an uograde. Cool to know about the projections, and your process.
just need some time now!

Is the building actually like this or has the photo been manipulated in any way?Β

endegor In reply to TheDorkKnightReturns [2019-02-25 22:12:50 +0000 UTC]

It is like this, but it is not easy to see it like this )Β  Human binocular field of view is 120-130 degrees horizontally and 100-120 degrees vertically, while here the field of view is close to 110*160 degrees. Also humans perceive a spherical projection, while here I corrected the projection to be nearly cylindric (unfolded vertically). You can see another panorama of this place here, it is 150*120 degrees, unfolded horizontally (shot from an opposite side of the staircase ).
