Many thanks for the link - glad to have been of help. I think the image well worth studying by anyone contemplating this type of work. It has the HDR "feel" to it with good shadow areas that would not normally be seen in such clarity and it is also IR with the light toned trees and dark slate blue sky. The very slight clipping at the high end is interesting. I wonder if this means we should drop the bracketed exposures by 1/2 a stop against a meter reading. Really it should not matter if Photomatix has an exposure that is not clipped, so puzzlement.
Cheers

Sure, thanks for putting the idea in my head. I do love the clarity and detail this adds to IR, which normally lacks in detail compared to normal shots. While out shooting this, I thought the exact same thing that you mention here - as far as dropping the exposures by 1/2 stop - but I didn't do it. Really, I was thinking that if it was too bad I could only use the 2 of the darker shots to make a simple 2 shot HDR. I'm glad I used all three though. I have to say, that I tried a few of these IR/HDR's and it was quite tough to get acceptable results... much harder than expected... at least in my opinion.

I need to get a test bed set up for this - good light, camera, lens, tripod, and lots of shots. I have tried in the past but something has always got messed up.
