BearHeart lowered himself to the forest floor, the damp leaves brushing up against his underside. His amber eyes focused on the plump mouse that sat in the small clearing, cautiously nibbling on a seed. His claws unsheathed with anticipation, his ears rotating to catch any noise that may scare his last piece of food away for the day. The tabby tom proceeded forward with extreme prudence. The brown leaves his paws made contact with did not crinkle as they usually would, due to the rainfall that had taken place earlier.They were damp and simply squished beneath his fuzzy paws. BearHeart observed carefully, eyeing his prey, waiting for the one moment he could catch him off guard. The mouse looked to the brush that was opposite of him and that's when he struck, catching the rodent in his jaws and killing it swiftly. He positioned the mouse in his mouth carefully as to not take away from it's quality for eating. He examined the area around him to make sure there wasn't anyone else who was hungry nearby. Once he was sure the coast was clear, he padded away as silently as he came to gather all the prey he had collected and return to camp.

HISTORY

  BEFORE BIRTH ||
Tigerpelt and Cedarwhisker were truly the perfect couple. They would do anything for each other, whether it meant pulling a twig that got stuck in their fur or dying for eachother. They had been together for quite a few moons before everything collapsed. They both were part of Thunderclan and while they had tried to have kits before, they always had some sort of complication and Cedarwhisker had had no surviving kits. She decided to return to her warrior duties and cease to be a queen.
When the clans fell apart and the two-legs went to war, they lost many of their friends and just barely managed to scrape by in the following moons. They found refuge within The Clan 50 moons after the disaster. That’s when they discovered that Cedarwhisker was once again pregnant. They were both worried about raising kits in such an environment, with all the destruction and the silent killer that no one seemed to be able to explain.
The 2 moons that passed seemed to pass by as quickly a few days. Tigerpelt and Cedarwhisker were extremely excited but also very nervous. Conditions still had not improved and while The Clan helped more cats survive they were still fearful. All the events that had taken place wasn’t the only thing they were worried about claiming their kits lives. Only two kits arrived, a decently-sized tabby tom being the only one to survive. They were overjoyed with their only son. He was a miracle in their eyes.

  KIT-HOOD ||
When Bearheart was born, his parents decided to name him Bearkit for his ability to survive and for his bravery and strength. As a kit, his parents were overly-protective of him and made sure he never wandered too far from sight. Tigerpelt had always stressed the importance of bravery and loyalty. Cedarwhisker had always told him to be as obedient as he could and to always be cautious.
Bearkit sometimes found himself asking why they couldn’t just become kitty-pets or loners like the other cats. Not that there were any two-legs left to own the kitty-pets in their dens anyways, they were all at war. However, his father told him that he would never dishonor his family or himself in such a way and Bearheart never questioned it again. He looked up to his father made sure he listened well to the stories he told and the Warrior Code he recited.
Bearkit grew strong, having to constantly travel and struggle to survive. While war raged between the two-legs, they would do their best to find shelter with other cats who knew what to do in the situation better than they did. Bearkit’s father would sometimes tell him great tales of Thunderclan warriors and their amazing feats to help Bearkit fall asleep at night. It always lingered in his mind how brave and stoic the warriors were. It made him eager to become an apprentice but with everything that was happening, those chances seemed bleak anymore.

  APPRENTICESHIP ||
Liontail, a former Thunderclan warrior, was assigned to train Bearpaw. Bearpaw was 12 moons when he was finally able to become an apprentice and was eager to learn what he needed to become a warrior. Liontail, although a mysterious tom, taught him well and made sure he knew the importance of loyalty and putting others first. Bearpaw became a nimble hunter despite his size and an excellent climber. Tigerpelt expressed his pride for his son and how well his training was going. Although they had not found a permanent home yet Bearpaw and his family and friends did their best to uphold clan and warrior tradition.
While out hunting with his mother one day, a lone dog emerged from the brush and ambushed him and Cedarwhisker. His mother hopped onto the dog’s back and distracted him while Bearpaw, already full-grown, bowled into the canine, knocking the dog to the ground. The dog lashed out his overgrown nails catching on Bearpaw’s shoulder. Despite them being dull from all the travelling, all the force the dog had put into it sliced through his flesh, earning him the scar on his shoulder.
Cedarwhisker, being much smaller, in the struggle was shoved into a tree trunk nearby by the feud between Bearpaw and the canine. Bearpaw managed to pull the dog to the ground and kill the scruffy dog while Cedarwhisker was recovering from being flung into the tree. Bearpaw immediately checked on his mother who was luckily not hurt all that badly. They travelled back with the prey that they had killed.
When Bearpaw returned, his mother was eager to tell what had happened to Liontail and pretty much every other cat in The Clan. Once he was recognized for his brave acts, he was chosen to become a warrior, finally, at the age of 60 moons. The Clan had finally found refuge in a barn. Instead of standing vigil over camp that night, he stood vigil over the barn for the cats in the group and the dog and cat that had hosted their stay.

  WARRIORSHIP ||
Bearpaw became Bearheart, named for his enduring, brave spirit. Bearpaw’s parents died soon after, they expressed their pride for him and the fact that he had become a warrior. Cedarwhisker went first, peacefully in her sleep. They were quite old and Bearheart knew that it would happen eventually. Tigerpelt followed a few moons afterwards, collapsing while they travelled. He never got up again.
Bearheart, after so many moons of constant training, was an experienced hunter and skilled in the art of combat. He was still grieving for the loss of his parents but tried to focus on finding a permanent home for The Clan. When The Clan was kicked out of the barn after the death of Dog, Bearheart did his best to hunt and provide for the group along with the few other warriors inside the group.
Finally, Starclan spoke once more, and four leaders stepped forward to create the new Clans. Everyone split up, choosing which clan they wanted to join. With all the tales he was told as a kit and Tigerpelt’s extreme loyalty to Thunderclan, Bearheart’s choice wasn’t very difficult. He decided to follow Warstar and became the eldest warrior of Thunderclan as of late.
He has spent the last few moons in Thunderclan, getting to know the other warriors and doing what a warrior is called to do. He has no plan to retire anytime soon.

Bearkit sometimes found himself asking why they couldn’t just become kitty-pets or loners like the other cats. Not that there were any two-legs left to own the kitty-pets in their dens anyways, they were all at war. However, his father told him that he would never dishonor his family or himself in such a way and Bearheart never questioned it again. He looked up to his father made sure he listened well to the stories he told and the Warrior Code he recited.
Bearkit grew strong, having to constantly travel and struggle to survive. While war raged between the two-legs, they would do their best to find shelter with other cats who knew what to do in the situation better than they did. Bearkit’s father would sometimes tell him great tales of Thunderclan warriors and their amazing feats to help Bearkit fall asleep at night. It always lingered in his mind how brave and stoic the warriors were. It made him eager to become an apprentice but with everything that was happening, those chances seemed bleak anymore.

  APPRENTICESHIP ||
Liontail, a former Thunderclan warrior, was assigned to train Bearpaw. Bearpaw was 12 moons when he was finally able to become an apprentice and was eager to learn what he needed to become a warrior. Liontail, although a mysterious tom, taught him well and made sure he knew the importance of loyalty and putting others first. Bearpaw became a nimble hunter despite his size and an excellent climber. Tigerpelt expressed his pride for his son and how well his training was going. Although they had not found a permanent home yet Bearpaw and his family and friends did their best to uphold clan and warrior tradition.
While out hunting with his mother one day, a lone dog emerged from the brush and ambushed him and Cedarwhisker. His mother hopped onto the dog’s back and distracted him while Bearpaw, already full-grown, bowled into the canine, knocking the dog to the ground. The dog lashed out his overgrown nails catching on Bearpaw’s shoulder. Despite them being dull from all the travelling, all the force the dog had put into it sliced through his flesh, earning him the scar on his shoulder.
Cedarwhisker, being much smaller, in the struggle was shoved into a tree trunk nearby by the feud between Bearpaw and the canine. Bearpaw managed to pull the dog to the ground and kill the scruffy dog while Cedarwhisker was recovering from being flung into the tree. Bearpaw immediately checked on his mother who was luckily not hurt all that badly. They travelled back with the prey that they had killed.
When Bearpaw returned, his mother was eager to tell what had happened to Liontail and pretty much every other cat in The Clan. Once he was recognized for his brave acts, he was chosen to become a warrior, finally, at the age of 60 moons. The Clan had finally found refuge in a barn. Instead of standing vigil over camp that night, he stood vigil over the barn for the cats in the group and the dog and cat that had hosted their stay.

  WARRIORSHIP ||
Bearpaw became Bearheart, named for his enduring, brave spirit. Bearpaw’s parents died soon after, they expressed their pride for him and the fact that he had become a warrior. Cedarwhisker went first, peacefully in her sleep. They were quite old and Bearheart knew that it would happen eventually. Tigerpelt followed a few moons afterwards, collapsing while they travelled. He never got up again.
Bearheart, after so many moons of constant training, was an experienced hunter and skilled in the art of combat. He was still grieving for the loss of his parents but tried to focus on finding a permanent home for The Clan. When The Clan was kicked out of the barn after the death of Dog, Bearheart did his best to hunt and provide for the group along with the few other warriors inside the group.
Finally, Starclan spoke once more, and four leaders stepped forward to create the new Clans. Everyone split up, choosing which clan they wanted to join. With all the tales he was told as a kit and Tigerpelt’s extreme loyalty to Thunderclan, Bearheart’s choice wasn’t very difficult. He decided to follow Warstar and became the eldest warrior of Thunderclan as of late.
He has spent the last few moons in Thunderclan, getting to know the other warriors and doing what a warrior is called to do. He has no plan to retire anytime soon.
