Chapter Six: Glimse Into A Stolen Past

"Jealousy?" says Ed, "What kind of name is......"  Just then, Ed realises something.  "Wait a second." he continues, "Let me guess, Envy gave you that name."  "No." says Jealousy, "Our queen gave it to me when I came out of the pit.  But, I'm sure you can see why."  As this was going on, Jealousy's arm changed from a bladed end to a claw.  "Yes." says Valgaav, "It seems you have the ability to shapeshift like Envy."  "Of course." says Jealousy, "However, I can only become living weapons.  After all, I am a Chaos Spawn."

"Hold up for a second!" says Masane, "Your 'queen'?  You mean the Lord of Terror is a woman?!?!"  "Of cource not you bimbo!" says Jealousy, "Ghost is the bride to be for our true master.  He was kind enough to bring her to life from the abyss after she was destroyed by that Princess Valkyrie."  "BIMBO!?!?" says Masane, "Who are you calling a....."  "Calm down Masane!" says Ed, "He's trying to make you loose focus.  What matters now is Shirou's safety.  And this 'Ghost' person troubles me as well."  "Brother?" says Al.  "Al," says Ed, "get Shirou out of here."  "Too late!" says Jealousy.  He swings his other arm out, turning it into a spiked tentacle.  It flies out at Shirou.  As Ed turned around, he knew that there was no way that he or the others could stop it in time.  But, just then......

A blue, luminous sheild of pure energy blocks the attack.  "WHAT THE HELL WHAS THAT?!?!?" says Jealousy.  All eyes turn to Lennith, who was both shocked and bewildered at what just happened.  Her arm was outstreached towards Shirou.  At the time, the only thought in her mind was to try and stop the attack, and then, her body acted on it's own.  "Did..." says Lennith, "Did... I...  Did I just.... do that?"

"What the HELL was that just now?!?!" says Masane, "How did you do that Lennith?"  "I..." says Lennith, "I... don't know..."  "I don't care how you just did that," says Jealousy, "but you're not going to live long enough to find out!!!"  Jealousy's other arm transforms into a spiked tentacle as well, and two more sprout out of his back.  He sends all four of them at Lennith, but they are deflected again by the same luminous sheild.  "What's going on here?!?!" says Lennith, "What's happening to me?!?!?"

"Lennith is using her powers subconsciously." Ed thought to himself.  "She has no idea what she just did, but she has awakened part of herself."  He looks at his hand as he reaches into his pocket.  "This may just work.  Hrist may kill me for this, but it seems this is the only choice I have here."  He runs over to Lennith.  "Lennith," he says to her, "listen carefully.  When this is all over, take Shirou and Rin to Akina's place.  They should be safe there.  I'll be there as soon as I can."  "What are you..." says Lennith.  But before she could finish, she starts to feel faint.  Edward pulls a blue stone out of his pocket.  "Hrist said to use this in an emergency," says Edward, "and this sure as hell qualifies as one."

"What did you just do Ed?" says Shirou.  "This stone is a memory backup." says Ed, "It will restore Lennith's memory, but only for a small period of time.  Let's just hope it's long enough.  Shirou, Rin, make sure after the battle is over that Lennith gets you to Akina's temple.  Most Chaos cannot set foot on hallowed ground.  The rest of us will head over to where the Chaos are waiting.  There is a chaos storm developing, and knowing them, they will use this oppourtunity to their full advantage."  "I don't know about this brother." says Al, "Are you sure about this?"  "No choice here." says Ed, "Now, hold off that Chaos Spawn for a few moments while I finish the spell."  "Right." says Al as he pulls out his Keyblade.

"Edward," says Rushina, "if that stone can restore her memory, why didn't Hrist use it on her when..."  "As I said," says Ed, "It's only a temporary fix.  Possibly for a few minutes at most.  It also isn't her full memory, there will be a few things missing still from it.  Besides, when this is used, it can draw..... unwanted attention."  "Kana." says Valgaav, "With Lennith's memory restored, she wouldn't hesitate to try and finish what she started."  "Exactly." says Ed, "Help Al hold off the enemy, and then regroup when I'm finished."  "Got it." says Valgaav.

Al, Valgaav, and, Rushina face off against Jealousy.  "Rushina," says Al, "you have the best sight out of all of us.  Keep an eye on this guy and tell us when we have an opening."  "Right." says Rushina.  Meanwhile, Ed starts to chant the spell.  The stone starts to glow.  "Wait a second." says Rin, "Masane, why are you not helping them?"  "Becasue," says Masane, "I'm covering Edward.  I mean, they only sent one Chaos Spawn.  The must have known we were here.  It seems way too fishy."  "Well," says Rin, "I have to give you credit.  You're a lot smarter than you look."  "What was that?" says Masane.  "I didn't mean any disrespect." says Rin.  "Sure you didn't." says Masane.

As Al, Valgaav, and Rushina battle Jealousy, Masane keeps her eyes open, looking for anything suspicious.  However, it dosen't take long.  Suddenly, five Chaos Berzerkers jump out of the shadows.  Masane readies her Witchblade.  But, before she can act......

"NIBELUNG VALESTI!!!!!"

The five Berzerkers are destroyed in the blink of an eye.  "Was that....." says Masane.  She looks behind her.  Standing there was Lennith.  But, Lennith was no longer the shy girl Masane once knew.  Lennith was a Valkyire once again.

"Edward Elric," says Lennith, "you and the others head out to the source of the chaos storm.  I'll deal with this spawn of chaos."  "Right." says Ed, "You heard her people, Masane, Valgaav, Rushina, Al, let's move out!"  "No you don't!" says Jealousy.  He rushes after Ed and the others, but is stopped in his tracks by a blast of energy.  "Stay right were you are foul beast!" says Lennith, "Your fight is with me."

Chapter Seven: Interruptions

"You are getting on my last nerves!" says Jealousy, "I am going to enjoy ripping you to shreads!"  Jealousy's form starts to change again.  Only this time, his whole body trasforms.  When his horrific transformation ends, no longer is Jealousy a short humanoid clad in a black trenchcoat, but a large mass of twisted limbs and quivering protrusions.  "I.... think I'm going to be sick." says Rin as she starts to become ill.  "Are you trying to scare me monster?" says Lennith, "It matters not what form you take.  I will destroy you."

"So you do not like my artistic work, do you?" says Jealousy.  His voice now a very deep, and commanding tone.  "I always think of my chaotic form as a work of abstract art.  Each transformation an opportunity to create a new form even more disturbing and destructive than the last.  And I take great pride in that."  With that, he attacks Lennith.  Lennith counters his inital attacks, but when she tries to thrust her sword into Jealousy, his form changes again into an armored shell.  "Impossible!" says Lennith as her sword bounces off Jealousy's armored skin.  Jealousy then knocks back Lennith with a large, twisted arm.

"As you can see," says Jealousy, "geting within striking distance is one thing, landing a blow is quite another.  Try as you might, but my defences are just as strong as my attacks."  "And yet," Lennith thought to herself.  "every defence has a weakness.  I just need to figure out what that is.  There has to be a limit to his shapeshifting."  Lennith's mind races over her options as she defends herself against Jealousy.  Every attack she tries fails.  But, she starts to notice something.  "So that's it." Lennith says to herself.

"I grow tired of this." says Jealousy, "It is time to end this."  Four tentacles launch out at Lennith, wraping themselves around her arms and legs.  Then, his arm transforms into a large blade.  "Now die!"  He readies his blade to strike Lennith down, then..........

"NIBELUNG VALESTI!!!!!"

Jealousy is knocked back by a large energy blast.  "How......." says Jealousy as he gets up off the ground.  "It must take a lot of concentration to keep changing your form." says Lennith, "So much so infact that it takes time for you to change from one form to the next.  Because of this, you cannot attack and defend at the same time.  As you said before, it is time to end this.  But it will be your life that will end tonight!"  Lennith prepares another attack.  Jealousy tries to create another armored shell, but he was too injured to fully form one.  But, before Lennith could attack........

Another energy burst knocks her off her feet.  "Jealousy," says a girl with white hair.  "I am very dissapointed with you."  "Lady Kana!" says Jealousy, "What are you doing here?"  "You are not to kill my prey!" says Kana, "The valkyrie belongs to me!"  She then turns to Lennith.  "I see someone used a memory restoration crystal on you.  But tell me, how much to you remember?"  "I remember you." says Lennith, "And that's all I need right now!"  With that, she readies her sword for an attack.

"Lennith, Lennith, Lennith." says Kana, "You see, the problem with restoration crystals, the only last so long.  And it looks like your time is almost up."  Lennith swings her sword at Kana.  But, before the sword could hit it's target, Lennith all of a sudden stops in her tracks.  "No...." Lennith thinks to herself.  "Not now....  Not when I'm so close....."  With that, Lennith blacks out.  She passes out and falls to the ground.

"Now," says Kana, "to finish what I started.  I have to take her powers now before......"  Just then, something explodes in her face.  She turns to see Rin with a handfull of gems.  "Well then.  You are either quite brave, or quite foolish."  "I'm just..... stalling for time." says Rin.  "I see you know what's going on.  Yes, I do have a limited amount of time before I can no longer take her powers.  However, I can still finish the both of you off, and still have all the tme I need."

"Why the hell did I just do that?!?!?" Rin thinks to herself, "All I did was make her mad, and now were all dead!"  "Now it's time to say goodbye." says Kana as she readies another attack.  But just then, a puff of smoke appeares where Lennith is.  When the smoke clears, she is gone.  "You may look the part," says an unknown voice.  "But you are no valkyrie."

Rin and Shirou turn around to see a young man.  Over his shoulder is Lennith.  On his forehead is a headband with the logo of the Sound Village.  "Of all the people to show up," says Rin, "you are one of the last people I wanted to see, Kabuto Yakushi!"  "And you still throw venom at me," says Kabuto, "even after I just saved you?"  "You bastard!" says Rin, "After everything that's happened, you expect me to forgive and forget?"

"I never expected someone from the the Hidden Sound Village to show up." says Kana, "You may have cheated me of victory, but this is far from over."  With that, Jealousy and Kana dissapear.  "Well then," says Kabuto, "now with that out of the way...."  "Hold it!" says Rin, "Before you do anything, put Lennith down, now!"  "So demanding." says Kabuto, "If you were a little nicer, it could have worked out between us Mystina."  "Why the HELL do you keep calling me that?!?!?" says Rin, "I keep telling you, my name is Rin.  Rin Tohsaka.  Get that though your thick skull!"

Kabuto puts Lennith down on the ground.  He then runs up to Rin and grabs her from behind.  "You really need to learn to lighten up a bit." says Kabuto, "Don't worry.  I wasn't thinking of taking advantage of Lennith while she was passed out.  Well....  Ok, the thought did cross my mind.  But I'm not really that kind of guy.  I'll see you around."  With that, Kabuto leaves.  Rin stands there for a second.  Her face is red with anger and embarasment.  "Tohsaka?" says Shirou, "Something wrong?"

"That snake in the grass...." says Rin, "Her had the nerve to catch a feel on me!  YOU BASTARD KABUTO!!!  NEXT TIME I SEE YOU AGAIN, I'M GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS!!!!"

Meanwhile.......

Edward and the others are making there way to where the chaos storm is forming.  Just then, Edward stops in his tracks.  "Did you guys hear that?" says Ed.  "Yes...." says Al, "It sounds like Rin is really pissed off."  "That dosen't matter right now." says Valgaav, "We have a mission to finish."  "Right." says Ed, "Let's go."  With that, Edward and the others continue to head to the chaos storm.
