Description Chapter twelve: Reunion

Link was lying in bed, passed out from the pain that the dark poison was causing him.  Zelda was sitting next to him, holding onto his hand.

"Link...." Zelda thinks to herself.  "Is this pain I feel now the same as you felt that day?"

Zelda could not bear the thought of loosing Link.  Not like this.  There had to be a way to stop the poison from spreading.  "Zelda?" says Adam, as his droid body floats into the room.  "I have been looking over some of the data of the poison, and I may have found something useful."  "What is it?" says Zelda, a glimmer of hope in her eyes.  "According to records," Adam continues, "there was an incident on the planet Aether involving light and dark elements.  Simply put, light can cure dark.  And, by going over the legends of this world, I may have found a way to obtain the light counterpart to the Dark Arrow."

The Arrow of Light.  Why didn't she think of it before?  If what she was hearing was true, the Arrow of Light can cure the darkness.  "Tell me what I must do." says Zelda.

Moments later........

Zelda was wearing the Chozo Armor again.  Siting down in the middle of a rune covered floor in the ship.  "Are you sure this will work?" says Zelda.  "Unsure." says Adam, "Given, you are untrained in the Chozo art of meditation, and what information I could give you on how to do so dose not cover such a situation, the odds of this working are....."  "Never tell me the odds." says Zelda, "I just need to concentrate, right?  I have done somewhat similar exercises in my Kendo training.  I have to find my still point, and focus my energy to one spot."

Zelda closes her eyes.  She starts to focus her thoughts on the task at hand.  After a few moments had passed, she felt like she was drifting outside the material realm.  She then opened her eyes.  She was no longer in the ship.  It looked like a room covered in stone.  At the end of the room was a statue of a bird like creature holding an orb.  She got up, and noticed that she was no longer wearing the Chozo Armor, but rather the dress of her former self.  She then walks up to the statue, and tries to touch the orb.  But, right before her hand makes contact with it, the ground starts to shake under her.  The statue's eyes starts to glow red, and to Zelda's horror, it gets up, and starts to chase after her.  She starts to run to the door, but the door seems to get farther away with every step.  The statue was gaining on her.  It looked like she wasn't able to outrun it.  It then reaches out it's hand, and grabs her.  The statue then looks at Zelda, and says.......

"Why have you come here?"

It took a moment to Zelda to regain her wits.  "I...." says Zelda, "I seek the power of the Arrow of Light.  The need is urgent, and time is running out."  "Is one such as yourself worthy of such power?" says the statue.  "It is not a matter of worth." says Zelda, "A life hangs in the balance.  Please, I beg you.  Show me the way to find this power."  "I see." says the statue.  "You choose power not for yourself, but for the aid of another.  Continue on ahead, but at your own risk.  The path you walk will be dangerous."

Before Zelda could respond, she was in a different room, and the statue was no longer there.  Opening the door, she saw a long hallway stretch out before her.  Along the walls were painting.  Each painting depicting a moment in Zelda's life, back during the days before Ganon's rise to power.  The first one was when they first met in the courtyard.  The next was her teaching him a song on the ocarina.  It went on throughout the paintings, until the last one at the end of the hallway.  The last painting was black, and almost rippled like water.  She put her hand up to it, and was sucked in.

When she opened her eyes, she saw Link fighting Ganon on the battlefield.  Each of them trading blows from their swords.  Just then, Ganon backs off, and pulls out an arrow.  Zelda knew it was the Arrow of Darkness.  She saw Ganon start to pull out a bow, and draw the arrow back in it.  He was going to shoot it at Link.  Zelda felt her body move on it's own accord as she pushed Link out of the way...

The last thing she remembered was a pain in her chest...

Zelda then finds herself on the ground in the Temple of Time.  However, the temple itself was as it was in days past.  The three Spiritual Stones were right in front of her.  Zelda got up off the ground, and looked at the stones.  It was at that time she noticed the door into the main chamber was open slightly.  She felt as if something was calling to her inside.  Zelda carefully walked to the door and looked inside.  She saw nothing but pitch black inside.  However, she could hear something.  It was faint at first.  But it grew louder...

"Zelda...  Zelda..."

"Hello..?" she called out in reply.  She heard nothing.  "Hello?" she called out again.  "Who's there?"  Zelda walked into the room.  But, just then, the door closed behind her.  She spun around, but the door wasn't there anymore.  She couldn't see anything.  It was almost as if she was in a void.

"Zelda...  Zelda..."

The voice started to call out again.  Zelda started to follow where the voice was coming from.  As she did, the voice got louder.  Then, a bright light busted in front of her.  It took a moment for her eyes to adjust, but when she was able to see again, before her was a blond haired woman in a blue dress.  In her hands was the Arrow of Light.  "I am so glad to see you have found your way my dear." the woman says.  "I knew you would be able to."  It took Zelda a moment to realize who she was looking at.  She wasn't a Hyrulian.  She was...

"Mother..." Zelda says at last.  "Is...  Is that... you?"  "Yes it is my darling Zelda." Samus replies, "You are here between the realm of the living, and the realm of the spirits.  I have come here to help show you the way."  "You were the one calling out to me in the darkness, weren't you?" says Zelda.  Samus just nods.  "My dear daughter," she says, "I am so sorry for not being there to see you grow up into the young woman you are now.  But, as I look at you, I am quite proud of you."  Samus then hugs her daughter.  "You have become more that I ever though you would be.  I am glad that I could see you one last time, and give you one last gift to help you."  Zelda grabs onto her mother.  "Mother..." says Zelda, "I don't want to leave your side.  I wanted to see you again for so long.  But...  I have to return.  There is someone who I care about deeply who needs my help."  "I know." says Samus, shedding a tear.  "He's a fine young man.  I wish you both my best."

Zelda wakes up back on the ship.  Her Chozo Armor still on her.  She then looks down and sees something.  It was the Arrow of Light.  There was something else too.  A blue ribbon tied around it.  Zelda picks up the arrow off the ground.  She holds it to her heart and says to herself...

"Thank you...  I'm glad I was able to see you one last time as well."

A short run later...

Zelda was back in Link's room.  His condition had not improved since she left.  She takes the arrow, and holds it over the wound where the Arrow of Darkness hit.  As she did so, the room filled with a bright light.  After a few moments, the light went away, and Link started to open his eyes.  He looked at Zelda.  Tears were rolling down her face.  "Do not cry for me, Ze." he says, "I will be fine now."  Zelda dropped the Arrow of Light, and embraced Link in her arms.  "Link..." she says, "I thought I was going to loose you!  I was so scared!  But now... now..."

Link puts his hand on Zelda's head.  His mind was filled with doubt and worry.  His mind was still set to going back to his own time, but now...  Now he was even more unsure about his plans than before.  It seemed that she was becoming more like the princess that he knew so long ago.
