It's Soukon, my lovely vampire. The title is from the song The Fallen by Franz Ferdinand.. Originally I wanted the title to be "What's wrong with a little destruction?" (that's a line from the same song), but it couldn't fit.Anyway, this is part of a bigger piece I've been working on, and it looks kind of sketchy, but hey ho.

Hey-ho, cheerio, I think this looks pretty cool. Reminds me of Van Hellsing ... sigh, must watch that again. Besides, I think that a somwhat "sketchy" look can really add a great deal to the character of any drawing/ painting.

it's not a bad idea. Makes you wonder a lot of things about Suoko, how many scares he has, and if he is a pathcwork of a human and something inside is far more sinister.

Soukon got he's scars when he was still human.. Maybe I'll write about he's past someday. I've been thinking about doing some stuff on Angelo, and what he did before Soukon caught him... But I should probably get on with the current storyline first.
I've been sketching alot and trying a new style for the comic.. I'll post some stuff on it soon, probably next week, if I'm not too busy.

How about I draw a Soukon storyline for you? You know as a fill in? Or do you want to handle that yourself? I can't help but ask because I'm inspired by your characters and would love to push myself more!

I have Soukon's background pretty much figured out - I think I'll draw it when I have the time and energy to start drawing Edo period Japanese clothes and stuff. I've already decided that Soukon's real first name is Jin, but I haven't decided on his last name yet.. Damn, I have no idea why I had to make Soukon japanese! I guess it's because I felt like there should be at least one japanese character in my manga-ish comic

I've pretty much got my mind set on "Jin Shinoda" for Soukon's name. I'd like to draw the story of his youth, but blah, I've got so much to do right now... Would you like to draw me some of it, if I give you the details?

Ok, Soukon was born in 1615 in Hoki Province as a son of a peasant. There was nothing unusual in his life until he fell in love with the wife of a local samurai. The samurai was not very keen on the idea, and deiced to teach the kid a lesson. The lesson nearly killed poor Soukon (or Jin as he was still called back then). That's where Soukon's scars come from. Actually it did kill him in a way. You see, that was when Soukon's master found him. Soukon was lying in a pool of his own blood near death when the vampire came by and took pity on him. So anyway, that's how Soukon became a vampire. Does it give you any ideas?

yeah, but I would want to do it all as a painting. I don't beliebe I can do it all as Japanese Sumi brush painting, but I can't help but think about painting it, I bet it would look amazing.
okay, 1615, Edo Japan, I got to write this down and get some research reference on the clothing and background.... Oh don't worry, I feel honnored to do this. I would love to collab with you ^^ I've got a few things to work on, but I'll keep you informed with my sketches and experments drawing Soukon for you
