Hell will never prevail whilst there is beauty such as this in the world. Stunning work Renate!

Apt title. Imaginative.

When I first glanced at it, I thought of the aft window of a pirate captains cabin, greeting the sunrise-- where? Tortuga?

Wow, this is so dramatic, Renate, and what a perfect title too!
Hope you are staying safe and are well.  I am doing well here.

Glad to hear you're okay. With us everything is also good - as far as you can say that at all in this situation. I am quite depressed about the whole situation and I am a bit afraid of the future. I don't even like to turn on the radio and television anymore - it's always just terrible news.

I don't trust the news that much and haven't in at least 10 years. I haven't watched news on any basis for that long until just the last 2 weeks.  I also only watch at specific times. I don't need people to tell me how, or what to think and news has been doing that for decades now.

Report the facts and let me use my mind and decide.  I don't need or want them trying to "craft" my beliefs for me.  I can think for myself!

This is probably the first time in decades that we; as a community of people of the earth may feel that we have a questionable future, Renate.  I don't necessarily believe this is a bad thing.  Nothing is certain, ever. I just believe we walk around with blinders on and don't consciously realize that fact because we get caught up in the daily activities of life and living. Now we are in effect at a standstill with all the time in the world to imagine the worst case scenario.

Truthfully none of us has the time that we would hope to have in life. I think that is part of human nature, to feel this way.

What I believe we can do to lessen the fearfulness is to be as aware of the facts as we can be.

I hit this site:  www.worldometers.info/coronavi…

It is an international site and you will find many facts as they change on a moment to moment basis. Find the page for your country and you can see a more true picture of what is happening where you live that is independent of "news".

There are often conflicting stories on different news channels here.  Talk about "fake" news reports. Of course I think a lot of that is simply that people misunderstand some things too.

Also I hit this site:  www.who.int The World Health Organization International

Since I live in the United States I also hit the CDC:  www.cdc.gov/media/

I keep an eye on all of these.

I also follow the guidelines for disinfecting surfaces and anything of that nature. I am following the protocols when I have been out to the store the very few times I have this entire month.  I am not by nature a social person so this is not a great hardship for me to remain inside and separate.  I am single and live alone.

The longer we can keep from being exposed to this virus, I believe the safer we will be.  One of the reasons we need to practice the distancing is so that we don't become exposed and get the virus and there not be enough medical resources to receive sick people and to treat them. The apparent lack of medical preparedness is beyond shocking.  But truthfully what hospital can financially afford to have all the beds that are now needed? That is a true impossibility to my way of thinking.

What I believe is that sooner or later the entire population will be exposed to this virus and we need to do all we can to at least put that possibility at a distance.  To use a silly example.  If I remain in my apartment or on my back deck, (when it is warm and sunny again), I am much safer than if I go out, grab up some good looking man and kiss him on the mouth, you know?    Practicing the safe distancing rule doesn't mean we can't get outside, it means that we must follow the distancing protocols for our specific areas.
In some countries that are totally locked down, I can only imagine how horrible that must be.  I also believe we will be seeing more of this as the number of people who are infected rises, and I expect that to happen because the testing will find those people.  I don't think that means we are doomed, I believe that shows more fully the amount of infected people.
People are recovering from this virus.

Using common sense can make a big difference!

Don't give up home dear friend! Be safe!
