Some drawings demand gears, and some are better realized through simplicity. Using a commercial clock motor may seem contradictory to what I've done thus far; however, what's most important is the integrity of the initial design. This clock is the first of a new group which employ quartz motors. Brass is still the material of choice, and many of the techniques used to create the mechanical clocks were quite useful when creating this piece.

The parts of this clock were cut from brass sheet with a handheld jewelers saw, ground to shape with a rotary tool, and assembled with hand threaded screws. The face has the initial sketches worked into it; a technique similar to that used in my third mechanical clock.
