I'm back with a new meme guys. ^^ I have been watching Avatar: The Last Airbender a while back and I got the complete series collection on DVD as it's one of the BEST animated shows not just made by Nickelodeon but on animation as a whole. With it's great story, well-developed characters, creative world building and beautiful animation, I thought of doing a countdown of some of my favorite episodes from the series. Remember, this is my opinion and you can share yours if you like, oh and spoiler alert for the series, so let's get started.

10) The Blind Bandit - To start, we have Team Avatar go to Gaoling to find an earth bending teacher to help Aang do some Earth bending and they're in luck as they go to an underground touranment and they see a skilled Earth bender named Toph (aka the Blind Bandit) doing well, and she rocks her oppoments good! XD (I'm sorry you guys had to hear that) So, Aang and his friends have to find Toph and convice her to teach "Twinkle Toes" some Earth Bending. It's quite a good episode and a great introduction for Toph, a blind princess who is skilled with Earth bending, she's very tough (No pun need) and has a tragic backstory with her overprotective parents.

9) The Serpent's Pass - Here, after finding out about the "Day of the Black Sun" and Appa's kidnapping, Team Avatar went out of the desert and going to bring the news to Ba Sing Se. They encountered Suki and a couple has they have to get across the Serpent's Pass, meanwhile Zuko and his uncle Iroh plan to go to the city to start their new lives, after failing to catch the Avatar and escaping the Fire Nation, but they encountered Jet and two of his friends. It's quite a good episode with great development for Aang and Sokka, how Sokka cares for Suki, and the couple having a baby really gives you the feelies.

Plus the cliffhanger ending is surprising. ^^

8) Imprisoned - My favorite episode from Season One (and the only one from Season One on my list). Here Katara befriends an earthbender named Haru, as he practices earthbender, but later he gets arrested, because in his homeland controlled by the Fire Nation and sent to prison. So, Katara has to get to prison and free Haru, his father and the other fallen earthbenders. What makes this episode great is Katara's speech to the benders on not to give up on hope and she is one of the noble women we saw on animated. I haven't place her on my favorite females list for nothing you know.

7) The Drill - After the "Serpent's Pass" Aang and the others has to stop a VERY HUGE drill made by the Fire Nation to break inside Ba Sing Se so they can take over. Plus, we see Princess Azula and her cronie buddies, Ty Lee and Mai are here too, making trouble. It's quite a great episode as Team Avatar (with Sokka coming up with funny team names) has to get inside and break the Drill apart, plus the fight with Aang and Azula is very cool and action packed. Also, Mai really don't like mud baths, but maybe Toph does. XD

6) The Boiling Rock - In Season 3, realizing that the Fire Nation use fear around the world, along with the failure of the Black Sun attack, Zuko joins Team Avatar but the others (mostly Katara) don't trust him but they later give him a chance. Here Sokka and Zuko goes to the Boiling Rock to free Sokka and Kataka's father Hakoda, along with Suki and another prisoner Chit Sang while disguised as Fire Nation guards, they also have to watch out for the Warden (who is Mai's uncle btw). It's quite an awesome episode with Sokka and Zuko working together, Sokka reuniting with his girlfriend and dad and a nice ending which builds up to the finale.

5) The Crossroads of Destiny - Ah yes, the Season 2 finale and the big turning point of the series. Here Team Avatar (sans Katara, who is captured) reunite and has to go back to Ba Sing Se to save Katara from Azula and the Dai Li, but they also have to help Iroh save Zuko, along with saving the Earth King. Here it leads to a big showdown and the shocking moment (literly) where Aang, in his Avatar state, is stuck down by Azula, but in the ending, saved by Katara who has spirit water and the ending has Zuko siding with Azula and now choose to remain in the Fire Nation.... Quite an exciting finale with a great cliffhanger ending, and it was my favorite finale for a while... until a certain other one.

4) Tales of Ba Sing Se - This is now my favorite Season Two episode and to honor the late Mako (who voices Iroh in the first two seaons, along with Aku from Samurai Jack and Spintler from the TMNT 2007 movie...), here where see how Team Avatar, along with Zuko and Iroh do their lives here in Ba Sing Se with Katara and Toph having some girl time, Aang caring for animals, Sokka with poetry, Zuko with a date, Momo looking for Appa and Iroh visiting his late son for his birthday. It shows the characters being more human when it's not involves war and it's a lovely breather episode.... God will bless Mako in heaven, as he was a great man and actor... rays:

3) The Southern Raiders - After the rescue and escaping Azula's insane wrath (after her only friends, Mai and Ty Lee betrayed her to save Zuko), Team Avatar are safe, but Katara is still angry and distrustful to Zuko. So Zuko ask Sokka for help and he told him that Katara is upset that her mother, Kya was killed by the leader of the Southern Raiders, so the two go on a quest to find the man and avenge Katara's mother, but Aang gives her some advice about forgiveness but it's personal to her.... So, during the mission, Katara slowly gets to know Zuko once again and after getting information from the Southern Raiders, she finds out where the killer lives so she finally confronts him and told him off, along with revealing that she is the one with the water bending powers, not her late mother, so instead of killing him, she lets him go as he is a patchic old man living with his mom and returning home, Katara finally forgaves Zuko and the team gets ready for the final showdown against the Fire Nation. The highlight of the episode is Katara's development and her confronting her personal and inner demon and learning forgiveness.... Character Development at it's finest.

2) The Runaway - Here, Toph plans to scum scummers of their money so the team can make some, however Katara doesn't like it so she and Toph get into an agruement so Aang and Sokka have to get the girls to get along, meanwhile Combustion Man is hunting the Avatar down. I do have fond memeories of this episode and the highlight is Katara and Toph have to work out their differences as Toph learns to be careful and Katara wants to show the earth bending girl that she can be fun. Plus seeing the girls repair their friendship and working together is very sweet, and it still holds as one of my favorites. ^^

Now, for the best for last....

1) Sozin's Comet - No doubt one of the best finales to an animated series and it ends with a lovely bang, here Firelord Ozni wants to make geniode on the world so Team Avatar has to stop the Fire Nation once and for all. Here we see Aang talking with his past Avatars, to the reuniton with Zuko and his uncle, Azula's decent into insanity and madness, with Sokka, Toph and Suki stopping the Fire Fleet and finally, the best parts of the finale, the big showdowns: Aang VS Ozai and Katara and Zuko VS Azula. It's easily one of the greatest final battles in any animated cartoons and the defeats of the Phoenix King and Insane Fire Princess is saystiying (as Ozai losing his powers and Azula snaps when she is subdued). Plus the ending is beautiful with Zuko becoming the new Firelord and peace has finally came for the world... The great finale for a great series.

That's it for my favorite Avatar episodes, I'm glad I have rewatch the series and it holds up greatly. Still holds as one of my favorite cartoons ever with Teen Titans, Steven Universe, Transformers, TMNT and Spider-Man. If you haven't check out the show, you should it's an animated masterpiece and still holds as the BEST Nicktoon by Nickelodeon, period. ^^ The choice is still yours....
