Furthermore, here is an example of an artist who has existed on dA long before PixieCold (and also draws coloful, disembodied eyes): [link]
It has always been a thing. It goes in and out of popularity.

It's not plagiarism (: A style cannot be copyrighted. And image can, but a style can't. Think of where we would be if styles did not grow and develop and evolve....we would be nowhere. Besides, this style has existed long before pixiecold. People have been dripping paint down a canvas and drawing disembodied eyes for forever. Dali has floating eyes in many of his paintings. Take a look at this Dali painting: [link]
I take it you wouldn't accuse pixiecold of copying dali?
Show a little more respect to the artistic community. You can call someone out on copying an image directly, but there is no such thing as 'style theft'. It happens all the time, and that is how we grow as a community.

Whoa, hostile much? Haha. Someone hasn't taken art history classes (; this style has existed long before pixiecold. And no need to critique my style, I've developed my art over more than a decade...long LONG before I knew who pixie cold was.
By the way, if you are going to insert vulgar language into your argument, your rhetoric becomes less credible. Perhaps learn to have a calm conversation before flipping out over someone that has a different opinion than your own. If you look way back, you will see that drippy eye art has existed for decades. No need to comment back to this.

But you still continue to make your work like hers? You don't make any sense. I have a calm conversation now. I only cursed at your twice because it's like talking to a wall. You think you know everything and you don't. Stop bringing up that people knew the drippy eye art because everyone doesn't.
You don't have an different opinion, you are telling me to respect someone but obviously you aren't respecting anything I have to say. You are a hypocrite. You are in denial, you won't admit that Pixie is what made you re irritate what she drew. You keep making up b.s that you already knew what the drippy eye art was but you don't have any proof. lol
Like I said before mind your business because I was never talking to you in the first place but you are telling me not to comment back. How about you gtfo out of here.
And fyi I will encourage all of your fans to stop looking at your work and see the original because Pixie's is a lot better looking in the first place.

I am blocking you, not because I do not wish for this conversation to continue (because I do find it quite fascinating), but because of this comment: "And fyi I will encourage all of your fans to stop looking at your work and see the original because Pixie's is a lot better looking in the first place."
That is a threat of internet mobbing (when I have done nothing to warrant it) and I do not take that sort of threat lightly. I use this site for professional, as well leisurely purposes, and childish threats are not ignored.
If you wish for this conversation to continue in private you can email me at: lucky978.gmail.com That is my leisure email account.

I've known PixieCold's work for a little under three months. That is a fact. I'm not sure what I can do to prove that to you, but it is true.
I'm sorry if I came off as blunt, but the main thing that ticks me off is that you claim my art is 'copied' from hers when it is not (there is only one exception which I will explain later on). I do have influences, but PixieCold is not one of them (though now that I know who she is, I do admire her work). I do not claim to know everything, but I do know where I get my art inspiration from. I think I only have 10 eyes in my gallery, and those who follow me know that I only do them for fun, they do not constitute the bulk of my work. I specialize in fantasy surrealism: [link] [link] [link] [link] and more recently tattoo design.
I honestly cannot say where I first saw the 'drippy eyes' but I know it was back when I first joined dA (see further down for examples). The recent ones in my gallery are inspired off ones that have been appearing on dA the past couple of months, and are no way a part of my professional body of work. I later learned that PixieCold is the popular dA artist who has been drawing them recently. So I guess in that sense you are correct, the few 'drippy eyes' in my gallery are based in part off her work. But as an artist, I have been dripping paint down a canvas for as long as I can remember. I guess that is why they appealed to me. I never once copied her, and I don't even think they are stylistically that similar (despite being eyes, and having some drips). PixieCold and I have talked, and she is not bothered by this. The only piece I have ever done inspired from her work directly is this: [link] Those who follow my work no that eyes are not my thing, and they are just done for fun. I frequently mention PixieCold whenever someone comments on one of my human eyes.
I'm sorry that I did not provide examples before (that's my bad) but I was on a cell phone.
Here are some artists who have done disembodied dripping eyes in the past before PixieCold's rise to popularity (I swear I have seen drippy eyes for as long as I can remember being on dA): [link]
And this one is where many artists today have drawn there inspiration from: [link]

As for minding my own business, I do that frequently; however, this was a case that really bothered me. Especially because the artist you commented on is as nice as can be, and has a tribute to on his profile, so everyone knows where he gets his inspiration from.
As for the debate about 'style'...honestly a style cannot be copyrighted or owned, which makes this whole comment a moot point. Back in the 30s and 40s Dali developed Surrealism, and many artists followed suit, creating a whole knew genre. Around the same time, Braques and Picasso develop cubism, leading into a whole near era. There are many other examples...I could go on and on. The artistic world has an understanding that styles change and grow and infect and then die. And that is okay. As long as an image does not directly violate any copyright laws, there is no harm done. I do respect your viewpoint, but many others (including PixieCold herself) do not see it that way.
As for Pixie's eyes looking better than mine, I definitely agree (: She specializes in them and works hours on them. Like I said, mine are simply done for fun, and in less than an hour. I fully agree that they are nowhere near the caliber of hers.
I'm not trying to start a fight...and I do think you bring up some very good points. But now that I have respected your opinion, perhaps you could also try and see this from my point of view?

FYI...I'm friends with Pixie and I know for a fact that she doesn't mind it, AT ALL, when other artists are inspired by her artwork!! Those of us who are truly her fans ALWAYS give her credit so maybe you should get your facts straight before you "insert-a-word-of-your-choosing" start with the accusations!?
