ok so... i tried to do what you said on my most recent wip and I think I may have over-exaggerated the roundness or something because I gave Haruhi Suzumiya yaoi hands... I'm not sure how it happened but it doesn't look as bad as I'm making it sound but I just have to get used to it i guess...

Well, you don't need to change the roundness very much ~ In this Kirino pics, you just have to shorten the finger a bit ~ Just make the hand look not too rough, that's all ~

Very kawaii! How long have you been drawing in this style? What do you think has been the biggest factor that has helped you improve or learn? Do you go off of a reference photo for your drawings, or do you go straight from your head?

I've been drawing like this since around december of last year i think, the screwups, and by reference.

Also, it's interesting that you mention learning from your mistakes. I agree and I do learn a lot from them. I've gotten better about it recently, but for my own part, it is sometimes difficult for me to spot them. Once someone has pointed them out, though, it's like,"Oh...Oh God...Why did I do it like that!" For me, I generally create my own characters, I will have to try drawing from reference like that, just to break things up and see if it helps!

yeah i do my own characters too. i just don't do as well without reference. I should start drawing my weird thoughts. It'd keep me busy.
