The brown pup, Mias, is a member of the Dodger gang. The dobermans, Gypsy and Nomad, belong to the Yardies. The two gangs are deep rooted rivals fighting for turf. Both groups have told their puppies strictly to never visit the park without an adult, because it would be too dangerous.

None of these puppies actually took this to heart. As all three sneak out to the park, which the Yardies have recently stolen from the Dodgers, they meet and become fast friends, not understanding that they're supposed to be mortal enemies.
