I was working on a piece last week that's quite similar in terms of vertical brush strokes, the medium and surface. But mine is kind of an abstract scenery type. I like yours better, and it has more meaning.
I agree with the previous commenters that it's quite haunting. It remind me of a face that appears on a wall, giving signs of existence and longing to be free. The strokes also remind me of rain.

Thank you very much. The red lips should be live and the mouth should be speeking, saying, laughing and so on. But its all behind a curtain. So that nobody is able to hear, see it.

This painting is really great. The colours and technique are wonderful. The face looks in limbo - it seems it doesn't know if to fully appear or to withdraw back into the curtain of colours. Beautiful!
