Today was the day. Besides being the day before your birthday, today would be the day you confessed to your crush and long-time friend, Ludwig Beilschmidt. You had written a list of 50 reasons you loved him and were going to give the list to him sometime today.

******At your un-awesome school******

"G-Guten morgen [good morning], Ludwig!" You smiled nervously as you approached said German at his locker. You had learned German just to impress him. He turned to you and...was that a blush you saw?

"Guten morgen, _________. Du [you] know German?"

"Oh, I tested out of my Varied Arts class, so I decided to take a German class!" you grinned. The stoic man's lips ghosted a smile. You gulped. 'Now's my chance..!' You took the letter out of your pocket "H-Hey, Ludwig, I'm having my birthday party tomorrow, I wanted to give you an invitation!" You handed him the letter, which truthfully did include an invitation...to your house for cake. Yep, that was your party. Stupid economy, Y U SUCK?!

Ludwig's eyes widened a bit "You vant me to come? Vait...you're birthday ist tomorrow?! Vhy didn't du tell me sooner? I vanted to get du something-" he covered his mouth with his large hand and his face burned red. Yours did too.

"I-I don't need presents! And it's not much of a party, really... grocery-store cake and dollar-store decorations, that sums it up!" you insisted. He pouted a bit, which made you giggle. The bell for homeroom rang, and you headed off, but not before turning to your secret crush again.
"Oh, and Ludwig, don't open that until you're by yourself, okay?! I, uh, don't want anyone getting jealous 'cuz they weren't invited!" With that, you ran off, leaven Ludwig confused, and a nearby Brit ranting about you "being a shame to the Queen's English".

+GERMANY'S POV+

I sighed in irritation. Why couldn't I open it? It's not like it would bother anyone...Feliciano and Kiku had already showed me their invitations. They were both hand-made, Feliciano's had a drawing of pasta and a white flag, while Kiku's had cherry blossoms and a weird anime mascot...thing named "Mokona". He wanted to know what was drawn on his invite...

"Veh~ Doitsu [Germany], it's study hall this period, and you can-a trust us! Open the letter, veh!" Feliciano was bouncing up and down flailing his arms as though flapping them fast enough would make him fly (which wouldn't surprise me, since he acts like he's on SOMETHING besides pasta and pizza). Kiku nodded.

"Hai [yes]. I am curious about why _____-san did not want others to see your invitation. Though I admit, I have a hunch." I raised an eyebrow, but said nothing as I opened the envelope with a bit of nervous excitement. I gasped when I saw what the invite looked like.

A heart.

"W-Was ist das...? [Wh-what is this...?]" I murmured, a blush creeping up on my face. I read the invitation in a whisper.

"Ludwig,
You're probably kinda weirded out by this, huh? Sorry. I want to invite you to spend my birthday with me after school tomorrow. But it's alright if you don't want to go after you read my letter. Just promise me you won't hate me forever, please? I meant every word I said...so please, forgive me.

I tried to make sense of what I was reading. 'She...think I vould hate her? That...isn't possible. It's the opposite...I CAN'T hate her...' I thought. I pulled out the letter that had apparently been making _______ act so nervous this morning. If I had been in shock before, I was floored now...

I read the letter in stunned silence. Suddenly, Feliciano gasped.
"D-Doitsu, you're crying!" I lightly touched the corner of my eye and sure enough, tears were flowing freely from them.

"It's alright, Feliciano...they're...." I wiped the embarrassing tears away "...happy tears." I grabbed all my school stuff and stood up.

"Rudwig-kun, were are you going?" Kiku asked in his Engrish accent.
"Home. I have...some writing to do." I smirked and, after telling the teacher I had to leave early for a doctor's appointment (sorry, teacher), I ran straight to my car.
"I know EXACTLY what I'm going to give _____ for her birthday."
