[UPDATE 2009.09.15] In order to fix the weather part, you need to change the Weather . 2004 . dll (remove spaces, I had to add them not to let dA linkify the filename) file in the Samurize\plugins folder to a patched on found in this topic:

Both are easy modifications, but if there is a demand, I will reupload with the config changes.

After using Samurize (and all of the other widget engines) for a couple of years, finally I found the least distracting way of showing system information at the bottom 14 pixels of my screen.
The config covers:
-Gmail
-Weather
-Memory
-CPU0/CPU1
-Drives C/D/E/F
-Wifi signal strength and SSID
-Download/Upload speed
-IP address (Interface must be selected both for Wifi and Ethernet if both used, active will be shown)
-Battery
-Uptime
-Room for extensions
This is for Vista. An update with the XP version follows. (Different Gmail message counter and Wifi ssid / signal strength method is needed. The rest are the same.)

Wouldn't help you much as the weatherinfo provider has stopped providing weatherinfo last november the way samurize was using it, so currently weather is not working in my samurize configs.
Once I'll have time to deal with it, I'll find out something and update with a new release.

Dunno, never tried it on Win7.
What I know is that Samurize do work on 7. The differences in XP and Vista was the way how you detect IP address, wifi SSID and signal stregth. As far as I know there's not such architectural change between win7 and vista as were between vista and XP, so it might as well work without further modifications.
So give it a try and you tell me please.

Tried using this, but when Samurize tried to unpack the file, it states it couldn't find the config.ini file. Is there an update?

Once the .sam file is unpacked during the import procedure, the config file is put into the Samurize\Configs\Stripe folder and it is called StripeVista.ini.
If samurize is already running with any other config, you can also locate it by rightclicking the trayicon, Select Config File (top menu item) and going through the list of config folders.

Na sikerült elindítani a gmailt, de nem az új levelek számát írja ki, hanem a feladót, meg ilyenek. Ezt hogy lehet korrigálni? Bocs még csak most kezdtem el samurize-t használni.

Kiválasztod a gmail count-ot, majd a jobb oldalon a source alatt a select function to run-nál a getmessagecount-ot választod a legördülőből.

lol, last question (i hope). how do i make the stripe 'dock' in that same postion. Like when im maximise a window it still leaves space for the stripe. when i select the 'Dock samurize' option (Rightclick>

Put it somewhere in the editor and leave it there. I use Normal Window Behavior position setting, not Docking and all is cool.

Rightclick on the tray icon, go to position, and have these two checked: "Normal Window Behavior" and "Use Designed Position".

(sorry about being a nuisence) my windows still maximise over the 'stripe', i want to make it so that when i maximise the window, it leaves space for the stripe(as if it was a taskbar).... when i choose the dock setting it does that but it gives me TOO much space as if the stripe was the same SIZE as the taskbar giving me a large blank space at the bottom(above the stripe) everytime i maximise the window.
i just need to find a way to edit the original samurize dock settings (if thats possible) but i cant find it.

There must be a separate application to set window borders in order to limit the maximized size of windows. Try to google for this, and maybe a bit later I create an autohotkey script for this.

I can see the same Tray icon that 'Toman001' saw, but i didnt understand your solution....

In his case probably the config position plugin has put the config out of the visible screen area, which I don't really understand as it should position to your bottom left corner. I needed this trick as I use my notebook in two different resolutions. Anyway, try to edit the config, delete the config position item in the left tree-view, and position the whole config to your liking. The tray icon is changed by intention.

Hi, i saw your samurize config and then decided to get samurize. I just literally installed it now. But after double clicking on your 'stripe .SAM package' (it went through the import wizard of course),nothing happened or appeared on the grid. what should i do?
ps. i got a error saying that gmail2.vbs could not be found..

Strange, it is in the package, just checked it. Maybe something went fishy while importing. Download the .sam again in case you don't have it, rename it to .zip, and uncompress to a temporary folder. gmail2.vbs is in the scripts folder in the package, please try to copy it over into C:\Program Files\Samurize\Scripts.

Na de akkor még 1 kérdés. Gmailt próbáltam beállítani ahogy leírtad, de amikor a paraméterek... gombra kattintok, jön egy popup hogy nincs script vagy függvény kiválasztva.

a tray icon rendben van, így van beállítva a konfigban. Azt nem értem, hogy nem történik semmi. Nem lehet, hogy véletlenül rákattintottál a tray iconra és ezzel elrejtetted a konfigot?
