Description One of the last few shots to clear the memory cache of my Canon 20D before it finally succumbed to a combination of too many shutter actuations, too much environmental exposure, and too much history.

Model: Tom.

Location: The Eureka Valley sand dunes (Death Valley, California).

You always achieve such huge spacing places (does it make English sense?) in your images. Look at that awesome combo of textures and clarity! And the human placing, oh you did it good.

That's precisely for what I strive; thanks.

Pinned! Because I'm a pin-whore. [link]

It links directly back here (in case you don't know how Pinterest works), but let me know if you'd rather I didn't, and I'll take it down.

No, I'm fine with it; I need a Pinterest account, too, so I can whore myself to the same extent that you're evidently now my digital pimp. Thanks!

*laughs* Okay. Let me know when you get one, ja? I'm reasonably active there. Whereas I rarely come here ...

Man, I dunno. My girlfriend shoots with a Canon 7D and I've adored it whenever I've used it, but I'm currently unemployed and thereby can't afford much more than a longing gaze at an electronics and/or camera retailer. I'd like for my next camera to utilize a full-frame sensor since I still occasionally run film through a Canon Elan 7N and I'd like for my entire lens outfit to be compatible with it. Dreams are so affordable.

i understand. how about running a camera donation pool? ie. asking friends for $5 each towards a 5Dmk1 or something?

Ha! If I were to ask each of my friends for $5, I'd earn a few laughs and maybe $5. Great idea, though -- just not one well-suited to my evidently preferred brand of relationships. With that said: do you have $5 you'd be willing to spare for a total stranger who idiotically assumed that "camera + sandstorms = camera will be totally fine" and therefore doesn't deserve $5?

if i knew that person i might not only donate $5, but also ask my friends to help too. network effects can't be overlooked! (especially if that money is going back into supporting an artist and their work, right after their camera died.)
