Unspoilt innocense... who cares about dirt and grime when it comes to play? I was with a bunch of local photogs walking about the streets of Kuala Lumpur. As the leader of the bunch, I had to teach them how I do my street stuffs. This shot was a portrayal of both me and the subject together not caring whatever that's around us. If you are too 'careful' at your street shots, you won't go anywhere. Oftentimes it takes a mere 3 to 5 seconds to take what you want, be it to soil your favorite jeans, to scrape off a lining off your shoes, to swim through muddy and murky drains, dodging bullets, etc.

Why 5 seconds? Easy... but with lots of practice: Compose (mentally), Aim, Focus, Focus, Shoot... each done in a second. After some practice, tune down to 3 sec: Aim, Focus, Shoot.

Voila!

Shooting the street, especially that of people, you'll need really thick skin to pull off. Even though I was on a tele, my distance between me and the child was merely 2 meters or less - I wanted the depth of field.

...Just don't go about looking like a molester or paedo.
