Morning Hath Broken . . .

...So come back to me, darling...

I travelled with ~tedadnan and ~kkog along the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia in November documenting for the first time in my life some nature photography. We covered the routes of the Malaysian National Park and passed by a few beaches along the way.

As it's the east coast, we expected the sun to rise from the east and thought of catching it. Being tired from the drive from Kuala Lumpur, we missed the early morning sunrise (we overslept) and only managed to catch one around 10am. In the spirit of deviantArt where deviating from the norm was in mind, I decided not to follow the more cliched and common postcard shots of marvellous sunsets and tried silhouettes instead.

As mentioned in the previous deviation, nature photography is my first and was never attempted before, as you may notice I'm particularly a street and portraiture photographer in my gallery.

the light is spectacular, it seems to look at the landscape live from a coast, not of to observe a photography...

Oh, I love boat shots, and I have to admit that I can never say no to doing them myself.
Though - just that once - I would like to critize a little: I somehow feel the sky is just too pale, and so is the sea. Of course it gives you a wider view of all the surrounding, but I guess it might have been stronger in its colours if you'd have refrained from taking the sun into the photograph.
Of course it gives a wonderful structure to it - the sun and its reflections in the vertical, and the wave line in the horizontal, so maybe it's all fine.
The anchor looks strange to me... was it burried in the sand?

Cheers

thank you for such a lovely comment!

that's Malaysian skies on a hot morning... pale. Same goes to the sea. This isn't edited in any way, which shows how pale life can be in the East Coast of Malaysia. The placing of the sun, however, is coz I wanna affirm it's morning here vs all the other cliche shots of sunsets elsewhere.

the magic of this shot is mostly in the anchor. Yes, it's half burried in the sand, but the reflection made it look like it's standing up!

VERY nice scene. But there is one thing that annoys me... the horizon isn't straight. It's not really that noticeable, but off-line horizons irritate me incredibly.

In future, you can send your horizon pics to me if you like and i'll make that horizon as horizontal as horizontalness can get (is that a word??). (I promise I won't rip) hahaha

LoL! No worries... I'll see what I can do to my pic on my side first, and if it's beyond saving, i'll send it to u to fix the horizontal of horizontalities...

Thank you...
