Set up: Cast small lamp light onto his face and used a fake monarch butterfly as a partial filter. Rotated the image, increased the contrast using curves and cropped to a square.

Those eyes...so expressive, so piercing - as if full of anger, pain, hatred... It's amazing how the kid's look makes me stiff even though the colours are so warm
