Description Yey I haven't uploaded something since I finished Montclair!! This is one of my projects for my SCAD class, Illustration Techniques. We had to do a painting based on one of features of the Lunar Landscape; I chose Marsh of Rot. Basically when an alien dies, they give birth to many little mushroom creatures and live and flourish. Yay for life cycles!

SO this is the secrety project...now I can see it!

I'm happy that you're (made to be) using watercolors, no bias at all there.


Very nice use of backlighting from the moon. I also like the amount of contrast, though you could punch it up a bit more.

The color scheme of each part holds together well, but there is a lack of cohesion of the colors coming together for the whole piece. Try extending the greens and blues into the warmer areas or vice versa. Something needs to play as a key here.

Composition is solid.
I have to wonder why you placed the larger dead person so horizontally, but she does a good job in directing the eye to the main figure.

Also the overlap is fantastic. It really helps to make the spacial relationships obvious.
