Am I Gorgeous Yet by *Ewig takes a concept, which has been milked and grossly romanticized in art, and turns it into something insanely evocative/innovative, despite our cultural desensitization to the 'issue'. The model behind the embellished bandages is modest and unaltered, bathed in a natural light that unveils her blemishes. The satirical nature of the bandages alludes to the absurdity and subjectivity of 'e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title="Wink/Razz" />erfection' as well as an implicit masochism tucked inside the heart of every female. This is the kind of work that can be interpreted so endlessly that anyone with an insecurity can relate - in that respect, it's impact is monumental. There is also a strong metaphorical language present, which makes reading this artwork so damn interesting.

I'm never good at 'reading' photography, I stumbled upon this by accident, and I'm so glad I did, it's refreshing to find a photographic piece to add to my fav's... Excellent composition, love it.
