would deserve contrast though

Indeed it would. I love high-contrast photos, but I decided to leave this one untouched by Photoshop.

I always wonder how these waterdrop-shots are done. Maybe i'll find out when i get my new and much better camera...

experimentation. Many of my water shots indicate how they were done, so if you want to know you can check them out. but sometimes it's more fun to get the camera by the sink and just shoot. I'd recommend you don't wait till you get a better camera. Aside from my Canon, I also have a cheap Sony DSC-P32. To illustrate that you don't need a good camera to take cool water shots, I walked into my washroom with my Sony and took no more than 5 shots with the flash around 6" away from a steadily dripping faucet. Cropped one of them and did NO editing in photoshop.

I've posted the photo in your honour, so that it can be a motivator for people who want to do macro photography, but are discouraged because they don't think their camera is up to it.

Macro Motivator

Don't stop expanding your skills on the account of your camera.

very true but that doesn't look like a perfect sphere in the pic. hah. great picture no matter what!

hmmm....i think at one point, it was a perfect sphere, but then again my comments didn't specifically indicate that THIS was a perfect sphere. One thing for sure, it doesn't have a scratch on it.
