Named after a mythological deity worshiped for their mighty empire and incredible conquest, the Karnus sniper rifle is aptly named, having been at the forefront of a dominating war machine for centuries. The bolt action sniper rifle was given to troops hand selected from infantry companies for their precision and skill. They were then trained to be deadly proficient with their weapon, which is famed for it's light weight given the calibre it fires, as well as its accuracy and distance. The Karnus was taken out of service many decades ago after it was deemed too outdated, although it is still sometimes used amongst some of the most veteran and 'purist' marksmen among the dedicated sniper and assassination teams. Whilst it is no longer a standard issue firearm, it's widespread manufacture for such a long period of time means that the weapon is widely available, and remarkably cheap to buy and maintain, making it a favourite amongst pirates and criminals, as well as civilians and militias, even amongst Human territories, where it is regarded as better than most Human made competitors.
