Description My first try at hdr. the weather was very dramatic with an oncoming storm - I tried to capture this feeling of amazement and awe.
Feedback is very welcome.

Hey there! Thank you for submitting to   for feedback!

Awesome view! I like how you composed the picture and captured a bit more of the sky, gives a feeling of great space

Since you submitted for feedback, here are some suggestions for you:
For me personally this picture is a bit too static, i think i would erase some HDR from the sky and let them move more
The other thing which is really interesting here is what it looks like rotogravure cos the light and shadows are everywhere the same. It's an interesting thing but i think i would still add more shadows and more distinguished lights in order to bring the feeling of the space here, to make a path a bit more in focus. But it's the thing of the taste of course

As for the picture itself, for the first HDR i think it's very good! And you captured a very nice view with a strong impact on the viewer

I hope this helps, and if you have questions, please ask!

Hey. Thank you so much again for your feedback!

I tried to do what you suggested  (I hope I understood what you tried to tell me) and here is my next version:

sta.sh/026rcztpdx47

I did not sharpen or reduce the noise in any way in this version so you can see what maximum sharpness I have without the noise reduction (it does not help much to sharpen the picture as then the noise gets even worse). The noise bothers me so I did a second version just with noise reduction - but then the sharpness is much less. What do you think is the better choice?

sta.sh/0oj6gtcq298

I have a tendency for the noise reduction as the hdr is already not the sharpest anymore....

Thank you in advance!

The both links show the same picture right now. I actually like what you've done with the sky a lot, it moves right now, brings the life in the picture.
I also see you added more contrast to the lower part and it works pretty well here i think    Maybe i would try to go not only with harsh shadows here but as well with some lights, so i wouldn't need to add the darker shadows everywhere, especially to the horizon, so the perspective would be more clear. Like more air between you and the object makes it slowly less clear and without sharpness between shadows and lights.
If you feel like you can definitely still apply it here. But as i said the picture already has the life in it in my opinion

It were two different pictures - on my screen the noise was very visible to me. But if you could not see it, I am happy.

Sooooo, next round. I tried again to change what you suggested. But I was not really happy with the result so I did a new hdr (the last changes I only did in lightroom).
The first one is the original file changed more like you suggested and the second one is the new base hdr (but still I tried to do what you suggested for the picture in general later in Lightroom. Somehow the contrast is way better on the second hdr, so maybe some other changes are needed there. But I think I like the total new version better to work with).

Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it and learn a lot from you!

Ic And i have a retina display

The second one has more contrast in it and actually pretty interesting. The first one i like personally even more, cos it has a feeling of perspective and movement in it. But i should definitely say that the second one has also a live in it with the feeling of rotogravure as well! So I'd say you should choose one you like more on your taste

EyeOfTheKat In reply to AnnaBelial [2016-05-26 09:04:26 +0000 UTC]

After sleeping a night over it I decided to go with the first one. I think you are right about the perspective.

I have some tendency to want more contrast in my B/W, but for now I do not think I am able to do it "right" enough to make it interesting and good.

Thank you so much for your time - you have been a great help! I have now an idea what to try and look for next time!

And I guess you and the others from this group will get more hdr to give feedback to.

I wish you a great weekend and thanks again!

This piece has an almost magical feel. The snow and clouds seem to weave through each other, it's quite amazing.
