Description Found a couple of old acrylic-tubes I had lying around, bought in India five years ago for about 8 euros, half dried out, and hardly ever used, so I thought IΒ΄d actually start learning this shit for once in a lifetime (instead of just talking about wanting to learn it).

This is tryout no.2

Love the feel of this and the expression, I like how you used acrylic almost like watercolor!

what is this painted on? i love it, the nose gives it so much character and the hairstyle is great with it. i'm a huge fan of the patchy(?) style that it's painted in.

ItΒ΄s painted on some textured mixed media paper for aquarelle and watercolours. And IΒ΄m glad that you like it, there was a lot of experimenting involved in this picture so IΒ΄m happy IΒ΄m not the only one who thought it turned out okay

that's what i thought, but i had no idea that acrylic would work out on watercolor paper so well!

But I mixed in a lot of water in it. DonΒ΄t know if that couldΒ΄ve had something to do with it, IΒ΄m still completely new at this ^_____^

yeah that's what i thought. i'd think that mixing a lot of water with it would give you the effects of gouache. i dunno, but either way both your acrylic practices looks wonderful!

I like this painting, not exactly because of the techinique, but the profile of the character, very unique and with a lot of personality. The big nose, the lights and the variety of colors makes this piece very atractive to my eyes.
