Lol yes, I'm doing this too.So basically, I just moved from copics/inking to digital/pencil. AND I'M STILL USING A MOUSE HAHAHA. *shot* I srsly should get a tablet. o_o;;
I think my CGing has improved slightly? (I LOVE YOU, PERSON WHO INVENTED SAI!!!)
Inking got worse. D:

Digital takes 2~4 times as long, and my linearts take longer than the actually coloring. >__<

Either that or it's because we're used to Traditional medium; so we work faster.
AND ABOUT THE LINEART. YEEESSSS. It's like coloring = half the time for LineArt.

NOT AT ALL. Most of it was MS Paint crap, and when I started using GIMP/Photoshop, it was all burn/smudge abuse. OTL
LOL I KNOW RIGHT. I used like two layers (lineart + color) and didn't understand people who used like 100 layers. Now I use like 200. THANK YOU SAI FOR NOT KILLING MY CPU USAGEEEE. OTL

I didn't even know what MS paint was D8; There were people who talked about it at school, and I was always like "what are you talking about IDK what that is and no I don't have paint :I"
Ohohohoh oh god orz I used to use dodge and burn for everything, because I didn't know how else to color. But a lot of shoujo mangaka that I really liked used dodge and burn, so I thought it made me more pro /12andstupid I found this thing I drew a few years back. It kind of. Burns my eyes >__>; I think that's two layers

I abused dodge/burn so much that my people looked more like oddly shaped suns. =A=;;
At least you could draw something...all I ever did was (badly) copy other people's pictures, and when I tried to draw something on my own, it looked more like a muffin than a person. orz
I drew a 200+ layer picture in SAI and tried opening it in Photoshop. I had to restart my computer. =A=;;

I have done the linearting layer before, and I was able to fix my weird lines, but it took me hours before I started the coloring. @_@

Yes, linearting takes so long. Linearting takes 2~3 times as long as the actual coloring for me.
