Description Once in a while (never), I make a deviation that has some sort of...I don't know...meaning to it? I started this particular deviation about a month ago, and all I really had finished was the background. I had no idea what else to add to it. I tried many things. And then I thought, hey, why don't I just use another stock photo of =Elandria , because her stock photos ROCK. So that's exactly what I did. And when I finished the picture, I looked at it and thought...hey, I can pretend like I put some thought into this - you know, like symbolization and stuff. Boy, are you going to be impressed with how good I am at BS-ing.

Okay, so first of all, you have a girl hugging a gravestone. The gravestone is out in the middle of nowhere, all alone in the desert. You see...um...this symbolizes the fact that we all die alone. Yeah...still with me?

So, the cracks in the desert represents death and decay. How? I have no idea. However, the three flowers (strategically placed in front of the gravestone) growing up from one of the cracks is a symbol of how life goes on, even in the most dismal of times.

The tear in the sky symbolizes a gaping void in the girl's heart, because the person she loved most in the world has left her. The stars I added to the black sky symbolize nothing - it just seemed kind of empty, so I had to do something.

The rain (yes, that's rain. Can you tell? Or does it just look like a weird texture?), of course, symbolizes the fact that the girl is sad. Tears = rain. Get it? I had to search high and low on here to find a rain-making tutorial, because I had NO clue where to begin making rain. It turns out, it's fairly simple.

The crow on the top of the gravestone probably represents death too. I just see lots of crows in manips and wanted to use one too!

The watermark near the bottom of the picture symbolizes the fact that an artist only has to get her artwork stolen once before she has to try something to prevent it from happening again.

And yes - I did just make this all up.

And now, for the stocks:

The sad girl mourning the loss of someone close to her:
The sky, which doesn't actually look too much like the original photo:
The tear in the sky:
The crow: [link]
And thanks to for the rain tutorial

If anyone can suggest a better title for this, that would be cool.

Full view is appreciated

Its a really great manip, I know you're not after any advanced crit, but the desert texture looks very flat and doesn't seem to fit properly into the rest of the beautiful image and concept. I'd use the resize tool in photoshop or whatever package you're using and change the perspective of the texture, it would make a huge difference I think On the other hand, its still a lovely pic so you can ignore me if you like Thanks for using my stock!!
