Description This is just a quick little drawing I did for a friend far, far away in Australia. He made me a watercolor, so I drew him a bee and a lily.

I used a reference for the flower.

It took maybe an hour or two to do.

Good attention to detail ^-^ Uh oh, now all the botany things are coming back to me... if I never have to use a Key again, it'll be too soon! Still, tis a very purdy picture

Well thank ya, . It was just a quick draw, by my standards anyway, .

Did you study botany?

I studied Conservation and Land Management just last year, Botany was a big part of it too. I'd hoped to get a job as a Ranger or Biodiversity Officer, but the paper work and bureaucracy in those Government departments is simply soul destroying

I had more fun volunteering my preexisting skills to a conservation work group, helping them build and remove farm fences and plant trees [and remove others ]

So now, I'm trying to get back on my preferred path ^-^

Oh yeah, bureaucracies can be so mind numbingly infuriating. I'm just a grunt working at Fish and Game these days, but I love my job because I get to be outdoors all the time working with fish and helping convservation. It's the perfect job, even if I'm not somebody particularly important, but you learn a lot as you go along.

Helping in any kind of conservation effort is always a fulfilling endeavor, so that must have been fun.

On the ground is where one gains the useful knowledge my friend ^-^ and knowing is half the battle [in a battle of thirds...what? Wait a minute...] I enjoy doing the leg work for the same reasons as you; you're out and about, learning and exploring and experiencing. I'll take hard work over paper work any day

By the way, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a grunt ^-^
