- The command lasts for about 10 minutes.
- The command is what the receiver of the command interprets it to be (mishearing can occur lol).

Example: Medic claps three times and says, “Stay still,” while staring into his patient’s eyes. It comes time for a very precise portion of the treatment. To prevent his patient from moving, he claps three times, again looking directly at his patient’s eyes. His patient stays still for 10 minutes so he can treat him more easily.

Note: It is quite easy for people to avoid this by avoiding eye contact. Usually he does it on unsuspecting people, like humans.

Son of a prestigious doctor of medicine, Nicholas grew up learning first his name, and then his physical stats. He performed his first autopsy at the age of 4; First surgery at the age of 6.

His father treated him in an experimental subject, both physically and psychologically. It was apparent right away that Nicholas wasn’t a normal child. He went through calculated conditioning in his early years so that he could be molded into a perfect, obedient son to make up for his abnormalities. His physical limits were tested and analyzed. He was abused and beaten by his father if he failed to follow his father’s commands. His only consolation was the periods of solitude he scavenged by hiding from his father. His mother was no help, and pretended that everything was fine. On several occasions, she tried to ‘help’ by rewarding Nicholas for accomplishing one of his father’s tasks, but that was as far as her involvement went.

Nicholas was kept away from the outside world. He was discouraged from associating with people. When he was little, he thought windows were the same as TV screens that were always turned on, and always on the same program. As a result, he was emotionally stunted. His father taught him to think solely with math and logic, and to ignore any feelings. Feelings and passions were merely primitive chemical reactions in the brain – nothing more. They should not be acted upon.

Naturally, Nicholas started hating his father. The feeling was instinctive, and yet, because he was so separated from his emotions, he couldn't figure out why it was happening or what it was at all. He just knew that it was connected to his father. One day, at the age of 15, he drugged his father and performed a live autopsy on him to find the source of his hatred. Even as he stared at his father's exposed living body, he still couldn’t grasp the extent of his hatred for his father. Then an idea occurred to him. He thought that if he cut off the source of the feeling, the feeling would disappear. The young boy dug a scalpel deep into his father's aorta, and let him bleed out. He then ran away, leaving his mother to deal with the bloody aftermath.

At that point, his wings started turning black. The more he realized that murdering his father could not dispel his hatred, the blacker they got until they were fully colored.

Even though he hated what his father did to him, he didn't know any other life. He began showing signs of mimicking his father's traits -- a thirst for control, unnecessary cruelty in his work, and a way of looking at the people as simply parts rather than a whole. Though he may have inherited some of his father's bad traits, he will never forget his experience as his father's patient, and thus has a strong emphatic link with all of the people he treats. This leads to a certain level of self-hate. He wants to rise above and beyond his father, but sometimes doubts his ability to do so. Medicine is his life, but that also means that he is still surrounded by the very environment that had trapped him in his early years.

He has trouble understanding the emotions he feels because they can't be quantified. They were never explained to him, never nourished in the proper way. Once he escaped from home, he began figuring things out for himself. Even though he's been out and about for a while, there are still many unexplored feelings that he grapples with.

Since he had been trained from such an early age, he has a very solid understanding of human anatomy and physiology. He has also spent significant time researching drug development, tailored towards himself (since human drugs aren’t exactly meant for demons). He worked as an underground doctor for the majority of his life. One day, one of his patients passed along an invitation to the secret organization FallenSouls. Intrigued by the prospect of working with angels and demons like him, he headed to Italy immediately. Along the way, he finds a newly awakened demon named Lucas (Rook), injured and about to die in an alley in Amsterdam. He rescues Lucas and offers to bring him to FallenSouls as well, since it seems he has nowhere else to go.

At FallenSouls, he chose the codename Pathos. It represents two things for him. Pathos means suffering and experience in greek and represents the appeal to an audience’s emotions. Nicholas wants to understand human emotions and suffering. On the other hand, pathology is the medical study of disease. Its word root comes from the study of pathos, of feeling and suffering.
