In Larry Nivens known space there is a race of 8 feet tall tiger-like aliens called the Kzinti. The Kzinti took Human slaves, as servants and food-beasts, put bikinis on them and you got the next cover of the "Man-Kzin Wars". A excellent seiries if you like sci-fi. Awesome!!!

This series is excellent, and this one is hands-down my favorite. All the ones so far have had some very intriguing deeper elements to them, which are extremely fun to ponder, but this also has some smoking stuff on display. Maybe it's because I'm a cat person, maybe it's because I like redheads, or maybe it's because I like women on leashes
Joking aside, everything here is really superb. I think the thing I like best is how you did the tiger's hands. I'm not even an artist- not a visual one, anyway- but I've practiced enough to know how damn difficult hands can be. You even took it a step further; I know that animal characters that act like humans (Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse) often wear gloves because it's hard to make a paw look like a hand, but you managed to pull it off. Granted, the tiger is supposed to look more human than usual, but the fact that you bothered to make his palms have white fur really shows how much effort went into this.
Gorgeous work

Eyes are the other part I have the most trouble with when I try to draw, and yeah, the ones in here are REALLY expressive. The women's downcast gazes bring out the submissiveness, and the tiger's... well, it's hard to put into words. His glare is very territorial, and there's a challenge with an attitude- "go ahead, just try it, punk"- which is a very catlike thing, but there's also something else I can't quite put my finger on...
I guess the best way I can describe it is that they make me realize exactly how well the lyrics of 'Eye of the Tiger' match its title.

This one does fit as to the Rakshasha haveing a couple of slaves. Ther is an expression cock of the walk meanoing the chief rooster in the yard where he could be walking a couple of lovelys. Other than that, it would be nice to see acoupe of women on the leash of a mink or chinchilla.

Yeah, yeah, I get a lot of ideas from those and the Dungeon and stuff like the old Epic that went out of print in the early 80s or so and other such sources of fantasy pictures.

Very cool.. This whole "on a leash" collection is pretty mindblowing. If I was a big winner Id probably try to get the whole set for my "fab" house..

Well, it was a pretty cool theme. What planted the idea in your head anyway ?.
Also.. I would have liked to see a cobrahead on one of the "keeprs", maybe in some sort of jungle camp type of setting.. Not unlike those women in prisson movies from the 70s.

I'm fairly certain this is where it came from: I was flipping through a magazine called "DRAGON," published by the guys who did the game Dungeons and Dragons--they have lots of cool fantasy art there and fun things to read that inspire ideas. In any case, I came across an article called "The Ecology of the Rakshasa," the rakshasa being a monster in their game (taken from Indian Mythology, actually). Apparently, these monsters like to horde slaves, and consider the beauty and number and power of their slaves to be a symbol of their own power and status. There was a picture in the magazine showing this tiger-headed man (rakshasa) leading these two women in on leashes and collars, and the image hit me quite powerfully (though it could have been a lot better, I think). Anyway, that image percolated for a month, and then somehow I was thinking about Princess Leia's bikini from Star Wars VI, and this image exploded into my head, plants, chair, chains, pillows, princely robe, boots, downcast and humble demeanor on the slaves' faces, glare in the tiger's eyes, and all.
Thanks for giving me an excuse to relive that experience.
I have a list of possible animal types and potential settings for more of these--they really are my favorite project to work on. A cobra-headed individual is definitely in there, but the idea of a jungle camp or prison is not one I've toyed with too much. I'll list it and see what comes up. Thanks again!

I see. The Indians have alot of interesting figures. My favorite would be Ganish, with the Elephants head.
That Jabba slave situation sure stuck in alot of young minds.. I was one of them too..
Il be watching for and looking forward to more of these situations.
