there is something about her posture and the way her head is turned that makes her appear very graceful. beautiful work, as always.

Love the use of light and shadow, and the architecture in the background. I realize (based on your comments) that this image is based on a story, but it reminds me of the film "Golden Voyage of Sinbad" with the spooky Oracle character, a good wizard who always wore an expressionless metal mask. That idea has always given me the creeps, even when such a character is a good guy. So this illustration is effective to me for that reason!

...Come to think of it, this illustration is also reminiscent of the spooky masked sexual deviant cultists in the movie "Eyes Wide Shut", that also creeps me out!

Yay, this one is very cool again ...
I love her dress! (Actually I love pretty much everything about it ^^ This is just like the sort of vision I have sometimes, but I never really seem to be able to put them on paper ... wish I had your talent xD)

Darkly beautiful. It is a bit reminiscent of Phantom of the Opera....at least that is what I though when first viewing it.

The silver thing is only Werewolf lore... Though it's been used in Vampire lore too, it irritates me when it is... Vampires are allergic to Garlic and Sunlight... Not metals.

Haha... I'm sorry, but I come across so many people who claim to be 'experts' on the subject... but most always say that the silver thing goes towards vampires, which doesn't make sense.

Wow. I think that's one of the best faces I've seen you do man, I don't mean that in a bad way. The subtle posing of it, everything, just looks great.

Yeah, sorry, should have specified. Her face looks amazing, but really specifically, the way you rendered it is gorgeous. Anyways, great work, as I was saying.

wow that is crazy man!!..the lighting and everything is awesome..damn you gotta preplan all the white lighting ahead of time to cause its just the paper right?..what kinda ink do you use?..i usualy use just a ball point pen. Very cool work..

Thanks! I do a bit of pre-planning, but for the most part the entire image just pops/forms in my mind in a very short span of time, and requires very little planning and development. Of course, I do so much hatching that there is plenty of time to make subtle changes as I plod through it all. I use Micron ceramic tip pens, which I purchase at Michael's for a couple bucks apiece. For my taste, ballpoint pens are two rough on the paper (denting the surface as much as marking it) and the ink is generally "shiny" rather than flat black. Also, the Micron ceramic tips get worn down so that they make lighter, drizzling marks instead of clear black ones, which I have learned to use and value instead of throwing away.
Thanks for the comment, observations, and question! I'm glad you like it.

Wow man great..yea i hate that shiny effect the ballpoint pen gives..it drives me nuts when trying to draw under light,,so i gotta arch my paper diagonal to draw..heh..those pens sound pretty sweet with the flat black..ima pick some up an give it a go from michael's this week i think...Im liking how you said they get lighter too after a wile so you can prolly just keep one or two around for dif shading effects..pretty cool..i also wanna check out some prisma markers..for some color work soon..seems like you would have more control then water colors..anyway great work keep it up and thanks for the tip!
