Asani is an African Wild Dog, Wild Dogs are NOT hyenas, they are a canid and they are very endangered!I'll be making stickers to raise founds for the conservation, but if you want to help directly you can donate at the @PaintedDogPConservation website.

African Wild Dogs are among the most relentless predators in Africa, if not the world. Pack hunters, they chase their prey (often at least twice their size) to exhaustion and kill by disembowelling, biting at the abdomen until the animal's internal organs literally spill out. Their hunts are usually successful, even lions cannot equal their kill-to-chase ratio. If I'm not mistaken, their societies are matriarchal. And, like Tasmanian Devils, they are endangered. They'll never deserve our love, but they do need our support. What a world we live in!

Yeah, Painted Wolves are endangered, and not just because they have to compete with stronger predators (such as the Spotted Hyena). Human encroachment in Africa has also affected where they can set up their territories, which can lead to fights against different groups.
