I agree, characters in your own stories always seem more real than even your friends, since you know every little aspect of them. Sometimes I write about something bad happening to my characters, then get really sad when I read it over.

Anyway.. Beautiful! I agree, the dapples and the cartoon/realism mix are great. I especially love Eqaetz' hind legs and Ki's awesome two-point.

I agree, there's been times I've had to do really nasty things to characters and I end up feeling really rotten. There's a story where I kill a character and I always get depressed when I read over that part. I hate doing it.

I really love your ink works, it's almost like I could reach out and touch the horse and it'd feel furry~ And the dapples look absolutely great, I can never get dapples right with any traditional media. xD And may I just mention the feathers are so floofy and fun to look at, too~

Thanks so much Fyresteed! That's funny XD - I can't get dapples right at all in digital media. The only time I feel like I can do decent realism is with ink like this. I try really hard to make things look natural and not screw it up. (Ink, as you probably know isn't very forgiving.) I'm glad I'm not the only person who likes these.

I love the way you draw horses' legs. I really do. Your ink illustrations are looooooooove!!! The shading you manage to accomplish as well as the variation in line thickness is awesome.

Thankiesss! Hehe, the line thickness is just me sketchin' over stuff several times until it looks right. Yee I'm glad Ki looks good, humans botherrrr meeeee (we have such weird joints!) Ki's like the only humanoid I can draw consistantly lol.

And I totally understand how the characters become real when you start writing them. I actually started having dreams with them recently. One of them got shot, I freaked out 0.0

A character got shot? Jeez that would freak me out too! Though I think my characters would be the ones shooting me hehe, I do horrible things to them. XD

Haha yeah, Charlie got shot but in the back of the leg so he was ok. Yeesh even in my dreams he dosn't say anything x.x then Bo went trigger happy to pay them back and scared them off.... and this all happened on some sort of playground type structure...

Feet rule haha too bad Quail don't have feathery feet
