All three BTTs for my girl Nexus!

I - Can I Trust You
My idea for her is that she was born in captivity, but wanted desperately to live wild like so many others of her kind. She ran away from her nomad handler, Helum , in the middle of a large thunderstorm. Her feathers and fur weighed her down and she stopped in a grass field where Helum later found her. He used his remaining wing to shield the kuku pup from the rain. After this, she realized her handler wasn't as bad as she thought.

XIV - Play Nice with Others
Helum later introduced her to Balis. He had been worried that Nexus would react badly, just as she had with other kukus. But Nexus found Balis interesting and instantly clung to the goadra.

VI - Again With Feeling
Later in life, Balis had been woken by something in the woods. She refused to sleep again until her two companions were awake. She found that she would gladly do this same thing any day. She found her place as a guardian of not only her friends, but of anything she is told to keep safe. Her large size is perfect for the job, and her strength can ward off nearly any threat.
