Here's a tutorial I did, using the Yuffie picture, Kleptomaniac Cutie. It explains how I CG, but I hope it's generally helpful for *any* style of CG you want to accomplish.Ingredients
1 Fo
12 JPGs
2 cups sugar
1 icing packet
If you still have questions, I may update this tutorial with extra material. After all, I may have forgotten major things... :\ You never know with me.

cg means "computer graphics" or is generally used as an acronymn for any type of colouring on tht computer

actually, no. i do all by hand.
but i'm planning on getting adobe photoshop pretty soon so i can start coloring n the cpu

omg thank you so much for this tutorial. i used it on a really old deviation i did and resubmitted it as new and got alot more comments saying how my coloring style has changed dramatically. This helps so much thank you!!

thats educative, thanks. you work with a mouse right? unbelievable...you manage awesome with it though, but i wonder, if someone gave you a tablet as a gift, would you accept it and change to working with that or stick to the mouse? A wacom would be akward in the beginning maybe but in the long run you'll be unstoppable, doing things in half the time. I mean, i own a wacom tablet, and what you are doing in this tutorial by roughly selecting an area and filling it with the paintbucket tool, you'd be able to do it pricesely all in one go with a tablet...so no need to switch to inking your stuff to save time then.
anyway sorry for the large rant

Nice tutorial, its given me quite a few ideas for my own works. I never would have though of using a flats layer. I like the way that you broke this tutorial down and the layout is really nice, it's easy to read and shows such wonderful examples of each step. Thanks much.

Verily interesting, although I personally prefer to leave the lineart on top (as multiply), thus painting the colors beneath the lines.
But then again, my art is sucky, and yours isn't, thus I shall shut up
