Well, I've been wanting to make one with needle-felting for a long time and I finally did it! I needed something fun and easy to do during all the stress of last month. He's got pipe-cleaners throughout his whole body so you can pose him anyway you can imagine (almost)! The shell is from a bag of escargot shells I got from the grocery store. The eyes are plastic doll eyes I found at a craft store.

I'm thinking these guys change color as they age, following the color-scheme of bananas: green at birth, then yellow, then yellow with brown spots, and finally dark brown/black. I wanted this first one to be in his early prime so I wanted him to be a bright pure yellow, but then he looked like a teletubby [link] So I added the orange. I think it ties in the orange-ish shell too.
