Doodles of Ninten (from EarthBound: Zero), albeit considerably overweight.I doodle this more often than I should.
For every character I abuse ( feathery-wings.deviantart.com/β¦ ) I equally over-pamper.
He's so round! Eeeeee!
Upper right corner: Damn it, Ness, just let Ninten have his cinnamon buns! (Okay, I know you're doing that just because you care...)
I happened to brush the hair on my Ninten doll ( feathery-wings.deviantart.com/β¦ ) to the side and thought it made Ninten look rather handsome, so I drew his hair like that in some of these doodles.

chubby ninten is def something ive never thought about really bc ness is the only canon chubby protag in the mother series to date but its still really cute

Really? Oh, well Ness does seem more dense than the other protagonists. I did notice Ninten's official artwork has a rounder body but scrawnier limbs than Ness, but I figure that's because he's just an older design and the style was more refined for Mother 2. Although, I do like to think Ninten is the skinniest of the protags (the Mother 1 encyclopedia implies he's not a very heavy eater), but at the same time a common side-effect of asthma medication is a puffy-appearance and an increased appetite which could lead to weight gain. It all kinda contradicts itself, so I suppose you could think what you choose, but Ninten is such an energetic kid that he'd never end up chubby. I like to imagine it anyway, heheh.

well no im going off of canonical evidence straight from the game there are 2 npc that make comments saying ness is overweight (the police officer from onett who calls him "fat boy" and the bus driver who calls him "chubs") and hes also short + babyfaced

oh you should totally play the 2nd and 3rd games too they are really great (earthbound especially imo bc the main cast is super diverse and the game is just really fun overall 10/10 would recommend)

Yeah, when I get an idea for something, I play out the scene in my head. I don't draw much beyond doodles because most of my ideas are moving sequences that should be animated, or at least in comic form.
This chubby Ninty is actually part of a fanfiction idea I had, which I'll never make, but still like to imagine sometimes.
