Personality: a very calm and kind hearted pokemon he will take time out of his day to help others in need. If he is made upset he goes off and ….that’s a bad thing

History: Kiri came from a small family consisting of just him, his mother, father, and his younger brother. His family wasn’t rich but they were well off. His father was a good businessman. At a young age he was urged to be a warrior, to become a samurai. Being a stern man as he was, Kiri dared not disobey his orders. At the age of 10 Kiri’s father made arrangements for him to be taught at a Dojo. As his father was escorting him to the Dojo that he would be attending, Kiri happened to look and see a old Infernape twiddling away at a very beautiful stone. The boy was amazed at how this pokemon turned an already beautiful stone into a masterpiece.

As his father walked ahead Kiri stared for a bit looking at how this person worked his magic. The old pokemon looked up and smiled at the boy as he gawked. His father noticed and took him by the arm and gave him a good yank signaling that there was no time to be dawdling around. At the Dojo Kiri couldn’t stop thinking at how that old Infernape did his work. It enticed him…it made him want to know more about what he did. One day while running an errand, he decided to pass by and see the Pokemon so that he could talk to him a bit.

To his surprise the pokemon took him by the hand and sat him down next to him and told him what exactly he was doing and why he did it. “ you wanna know why I do this….it’s because of the joy I bring ..the joy of seeing a beautiful woman’s face when she comes in to pick up a new broach….or the joy on a mans face when the pendent that he asked be made for his wife is finally finished. It’s that sole reason alone that I do this….it has made my life full and happy….it even helped me find my late wife….what makes you happy boy?” that simple question shook Kiri’s little world….what did make him happy? Up until then Kiri considered himself to be a happy person.. but was he really?

Kiri left the man with that question burning his mind….what did make him happy? All that week he seemed to be in a daze. He couldn’t do anything right. His fellow students noticed and so did his Sensei. His sensei came up to him and tried to reason with him ..saying “ your father wouldn’t be proud of your performance…what if we go into battle and your skills are not up to par?.. you will certainly die ..so if you want to live then you must train and train hard.” Kiri looked up at the man and gave a week reply and a nod. But deep down inside he dident want to fight.. he wasn’t the fighting type. Sure he was ok with a sword but that was not what he wanted to do.

Then ..in the middle of class a few days later he knew what he wanted…he wanted to be exactly like that Infernape. He wanted to see people happy ..not cut them down with his blade. Standing up he removed his swords from his sash and laid them down on the floor. Giving a respectful bow to his Sensei he left not caring about what his father wanted. The day was cold and snow was falling. The city was hushed by the snow, it seemed as if it had been waiting for this day to come. He entered the shop and bowed in respect to the old pokemon. “ Please Sir…teach me how to be like you…to be happy.”

the old pokemon smiled and then patted him on the head. With a chuckle he replied “ I cant see anything wrong with doing that” his father angered by his sons delinquency disowned him and gave headship to his younger brother. But Kiri dident care he was finally happy and he was doing something good….making people happy. At the age of 12 he became the old Infernape’s apprentice. Living with him and learning step by step how to craft jewelry and how to pick the good stones from the bad. How to tell if the gold and sliver ore that was needed was good enough to be used.

Every tool. How to use them, how not to use them. How to smelt metal. Everything that was needed to be a jeweler. After Kiri turned 19 he had successfully transitioned from apprentice to master. The old Pokemon let him work with him side by side with no supervision. Kiri was thrilled that now he was able to do work on his own and with great quality. But that same year in the summer the older pokemon passed away. Kiri’s heart was broken. It was as if he had lost his parents. And in a way ..he had, this old pokemon had been a father to him, took him in fed him, clothed him, taught him a how to support himself, how to be someone ..and now he was gone….forever. But that dident stop Kiri from continuing on his work. He was finally happy and he knew that in his heart it was what he was meant to do.

Additional Information: has a weapon on him at all times but there mainly for intimidation, very protective of his friends, sings well, loves children, is a lot stronger than he looks, will some times custom make hand guards for a Samurai’s Katana, goes out of town once a month to find new stones to make jewelry with. Keeps a Naginata in the back of his shop for intimidation and for thefts.
