As much as there's the fire of AI art, real art theft is still a major problem in the art world! Always protect your own artwork from being stolen, even though it's easier said than done. It's VERY rude to steal someone's art when the original artist have put so much time and effort to show and express their creativity. And when someone steals their art, it hurts them and it's just not right!

For those who don't understand, this is about art thieves who like to steal other people’s artwork, and claim them as their own without crediting you, recoloring it, editing it, and stealing your art without your permission. It is VERY common on many sites, not just on DA, but on Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr! Art thieves are cyberbullies and talentless people who like to steal from other artists because they have no creativity and they lack the talent, empathy, creativity, skills and patience to make their own artwork. So please, if want to protect your work, watermark your art and write in the description to tell your audience not to steal your artwork. Another pet peeve of mine is people recoloring actual characters and claiming them to be "original characters", and to me, that's just beyond being lazy and MAJOR lack of creativity!

It's ok to use references if you can't draw from the top of your head. I know I can't draw without references and I always make sure to give credit for screenshots I use for my fake screenshots. I even try to make sure my OCs are not copies of others' OCs by browsing through various artists' work so I can avoid making a terrible mistake! The more you draw, that helps you IMPROVE and get BETTER with your art. I watched many artists on this site for years and watched them grow to make their art better and better each time! If they can do it, you can too! I even plan to remake some of my old artwork since I've been slowly improving myself and I hope to see myself one day be able to draw without heavily depending on bases!

So yes, spread this around and help make a stand against art theives!
