I think this photo speaks for itself. The scale of things is just huge in the Alps. Now I'm back in England, everything seems tiny and squashed.Taken above Wengen, near Interlaken, Switzerland

No, that was the D70 back then (!). I used DxO Optics to make it look a bit crisper though. I'd love to go back there and spend some more time on the shot with a wider lens, I didn't think it would look very good when I was taking the shot D:

I let DxO Optics have some fun with the image first of all, and then I just compressed the levels in Photoshop to get the whites out.

It's a neutral density gradient filter that slots on the front of the lens to darken the top of the image and leave the bottom the same brightness. It was the middle of the day, so the sky was really bright compared to the ground below so I needed to use it so that it evened out the photo

There's a lot going on in that picture, like the shape and color of the clouds contrast to the green peaceful valley before. Once again, beautiful capture!
