Description Hedgerow Babies Imports: Easter Art Auction
This Auction has been Closed and Judged - see below for winners!
- This auction is open to all members who have not used all their fawn slots - that's right, these babies only take baby slots!
- These fawns were born in Spring or Summer 761 - that means they're now between 3 and 6 months old!
- These designs are all for The Western Isles and can be used in any herd!
- Body type, personality, horn design etc. are up to you. These are just representations of colour
- If you win but do not want your design please let us know so we can open it for public adoption
- Any fawns who have not been claimed (drawn and registered with the group) within two months stand the risk of being resold to another player
- Send all bids via this form  - Bids in COMMENTS will be IGNORED. Bids submitted after the deadline will not count!

How we will be judging:
A good character and good research is weighted as much as a good artwork or a good story. Each can win over the other or tip the scales, and a bid will suffer if one is neglected. Make sure you've read all the applicable journals in order to make a realistic character. Art and literature will be judged on effort against your own gallery. If you have plans for your character be sure to include them, every detail can mean the difference between winning and going home empty handed. On the other hand, details can be lost in an extensively long bid, so concise detail is key.

Each design has what type of auction it is available for - art or literature - listed in a note below it.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SUBMIT THE RIGHT KIND OF BID FOR EACH DESIGN!

Bids should include the Fawnling Reference info for Fawnlings in the Western Isles (the first form at the bottom of the How to Get a Fawnling  journal!) in the artist's comments at the very least

Hey, one of those designs is a Born Adept! And one of them has Pipi! How come?
These are two super special fawns You might also notice there's a stripey fawn and a pearl fawn, which are also rare designs. That's because this is just a special auction for funsies, so there are some special fawns avaiable for you to bid on

Can I bid on more than one design?
Yes you can! In fact, you can bid on as many as you like. However, you are most likely to only win one of your bids and we would rather encourage everyone to focus on a favourite and/or single bid, rather than make several bids in a hurry and miss out on details and valuable character potential

How can I keep track of the auction?
Please check out our main page! There you will always find a countdown for active auctions, raffles and whatnot

So I've bid on one of the art auction designs - can I add a story to my bid?
Certainly! Simply add it to your Author's Comment and paste the story before or after your character profile! Do not separate your artwork/character profile and the story by submitting it as a literature submission, submitting that as a secondary part of your bid will not count!

So I've bid on one of the literature auction designs - can I add an image to my bid?
Yes, if you so desire  - however this would be considered a secondary part of your bid and will not count towards the overall judging

Just to be sure, do the literature stories have to have them as their age now, or can it be a story from the future?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

femalefred In reply to Frostbitten-Summer [2015-04-21 18:24:15 +0000 UTC]

Around the age they are now - certainly no older than 1 year old

BVS-Isle [2015-04-19 19:01:46 +0000 UTC]

Would it be okay if I asked someone for help with my drawing bid for the Kestral, I'm having a hard time getting the fawn features correctly for him/her, it looks like its older currently and that isn't what I had in mind for my bid. Or would that be fine if it looks a bit older, the unfortunate part is I don't want to try any future things(older images included) and the story tells of an 8 month old and not an adolescent/adult. :/ and I have tried to use a fawn reference once but it turned into an adult

I'm sorry for the strange questions, I just really want to try my hardest for this one

femalefred In reply to BVS-Isle [2015-04-19 19:15:54 +0000 UTC]

As the Kestrel fawnling is specifically an art auction, we would ask that you don't get additional help because we're judging based on what you drew The image does need to show the fawn around the age they are now - so between 3 and 9 months old. Remember as well that because this is an art auction the story will not count towards the judging.

Remember as well that we'll be looking at the profile as well as the art - it's not just about the picture you draw, but the character you create

I hope that makes sense ^^

Frostbitten-Summer In reply to femalefred [2015-04-20 00:51:44 +0000 UTC]

If the art drawing has to show them around the age they are at, is that the same for the literature one?

Ah ok, I was just going to ask for pointers on how I can fix my problem with drawing more grown fawnling's x'D

Okay but I love to make stories and technically its apart of her history on my idea.

Okay, thanks Fred I feel kind of better getting that off my chest, lol.

Thank you

I have a question about Kestrel x3 When she gets older, what would her horn color be?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

femalefred In reply to DarkVampireRider [2015-04-19 19:13:43 +0000 UTC]

Horsepoint is pretty much right - normally the horn colour would be about the same colour as the mane and tail, but sometimes they can be a few shades darker or lighter

Horsepoint In reply to DarkVampireRider [2015-04-16 20:26:29 +0000 UTC]

Looking through existing designs, I think horns are usually the colour of the mane/tail hair. However, there are the odd few exceptions that I can see, so don't quote me on that!

If we want to use one of our own characters for one of the parents how do we know if they can produce that fawn? I'm not good with genetics and phenotype and stuff.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Horsepoint In reply to StrangerStrawberries [2015-04-15 12:19:43 +0000 UTC]

You could ask people - I mean I'm happy to take a look if you tell me which of your fawnlings it is and which baby c:

Otherwise there's Tigress's geno generator which calculates all the marking possibilities of two parents - you could put yours in parent 1 and dick about with parent 2 until you get a result that matches the baby you want c: It's only fawnling markings though, not the rest of the coat colour.

Horsepoint In reply to StrangerStrawberries [2015-04-15 15:32:02 +0000 UTC]

Sure!

Sorry, no dice >: The badger baby would need both parents to at least carry smoky fawn (fws) and partially restricted (rz)- not to mention flaxen (f). Zmey only has classic fawn to give. Sorry!
