It makes me angry that there have been only three weight groups for women at the Olympics so far. It is so unfair to boxers who are a little over the weight for one division to fight several divisions higher just to be Olympians. The concept that the top women amateurs come in just three sizes is offensive and dumb and kind of insulting when men have all the usual weights allowed.

It's exactly as you say. She lost her passion for boxing as her weight class disappeared from Olympic boxing. As a result of thinking, she chose professional boxing. But all her amateur boxer license and her position have been lost. That is exile from the amateur association. She can not do amateur boxing again in Japan.

I have heard this kind of story over and over, it is crazy and insulting to hem amateur athletes in like this and to either make them turn pro too soon or tob fight at the wrong weight for them. The idea that women should only come in three handy sizes is ridiculous.

Actually not all the men's weights are contested because in order to accommodate women's boxing. The IOC restricts the number of athletes that are allowed to be involved meaning that when they approved women's boxing the men had to lose places . It is a really stupid set up that robs both men and women of the chance to compete at the highest level. To allow more boxers in they would have to dump Tennis or Golf or something else they added in recent Olympiads
