Description Here is my eighth piece in a series of drawings paying tribute to the Bond Girls from Ian Fleming's seminal 007 novels.

Much like Gala Brand before her, Bond Girl Mary Ann Russell holds the distinction of being one of the few leading women from Ian Fleming's works to have never been adapted to the big screen. She appeared in the short story "From a View to a Kill," which was collected in the anthology book "For Your Eyes Only."

Mary Ann is an agent for the France-based Section F. She is sent to retrieve James Bond in Paris to help investigate the murder of a dispatch-rider from SHAPE (a division of NATO). She agrees to go out with Bond after the mission, which subsequently prompts her to weasel her way into the back-up team so that she can make sure he survives the assignment. In the end, it is Mary Ann that saves Bond's life when he is nearly killed by one of the story's villains.

Seeing as "For Your Eyes Only" features several self-contained stories, I knew I'd probably end up drawing the Bond Girls from each one. Mary Ann really struck me, as she was described with rather vivid language and ended up saving James Bond during the story's conclusion. I wanted to reference that with this drawing. I've given her a trench coat and a beret, just as she wears in the book. This one was actually quite fun to draw and she's probably one of my favourites thus far in this series of pin-ups.

Enjoy!

I highly doubt she screams for James every five seconds.

As I pointed out in the comment box, Mary Ann never once appears in the films. This series itself is dedicated to the literary Bond Girls, which means they're not the ones you see in the adaptations.

I also don't think Mary Ann is French. It's presumed she's English, as Bond is relieved to find that she's not French. He dislikes French women, as he feels they're fake and whorish in their appearance. Although, he does say he prefers the way they perfume themselves.

I would have to agree with you honestly
This is possibly the best one you've done so far
It's in league with your Tilly Masterton drawing

But yeah Mary Ann is on fire here, not only does she look the part,
costume and everything but you seemed to have got the confidence of
the character across extremely well (also her blonde hair and legs are amazing)
I'm totally in love with this right now

Like you said before about these being self contained stories I can only imagine how interesting
it would be for when you draw the girls from the other stories.

Excellent job

Thank you so much! I'm really happy you like it. She stood out for me and I think my enthusiasm for her described style really influenced the drawing.

A certain arrow-wielding badass is set to appear next in this pin-up series.
